Sabes que, saying southwestern is a whole lot worse than saying southern california.
This was my final planned tournament.
I highly doubt I'll be going to any more, but at least with Chrisbo going all puppy-dog eyes on me, I may go to a few league sessions or something else in the future.
I got there VERY late.
I had planned to be there at eight o'clock, but didn't arrive by nine thirty.
I was very mad at my parents for being lazy for my last tournament.
In fact, the real only reason I came was to say goodbye to everyone.
I sit down in front of the ballroom with Jon (WaterPokemonMaster) to fill out my decklist.
With very little time, we tell small, quick jokes that really didn't make any sense, but we laughed anyway.
Turn in deck, I FINALLY GOT A DEOXYS!
Kudos to Greg for trading me a Deoxys to my Emerald.
Too many people going around, "you got Diamond or Pearl yet?"
No, C'MON!
Be patient, dang, it’s coming out in frikin’ a week.
There was a camera crew there (two people) for independent stuff, and if anybody knows where I can see it, tell me.
They filmed something called “Regionals”, and interviewed a whole bunch of people.
Round 1 vs. Jim H (Raieggs)
It’s almost typical I face delta first.
Basically, this is a crap shoot.
He gets out Exeggutor out real fast.
I get Scizor out and KO his Exeggutor, but he gets out another and KOs me.
I made a few misplays in what attacks to use.
He KOs a Skarmory, Metagross, and Scyther.
I think that I just didn’t have any of the right kind of energy.
Loss

Round 2 vs. Kathy (RAMBO)
I probably shoulda run this deck.
Maybe the only reason I lost is because I had weakness, but I lost.
I got KOd Scizor, Scyther, Beldum.
I got benched.
Loss

Aw, man.
Now I have to go through the next 5 and win to even think of getting in the T16.
It’s lunch time.
Me and John stalk Paul and Chung to Carl’s Jr.
Being a block from Disneyland, there’s all sorts of fruits walking around (but not nearly as bad as Sunset Blvd.).
HUGE line, but we’re only waiting for 5 minutes.
The entire thing was awkward, because the place was ten people under the occupant limit.
About half of them were from the tournament, and about half of them came with ten minutes of lunch left.
Walkin back, drop my iPod on the crosswalk, and wait a while.
Round 3 vs. Glen V (Metagross, Delcatty, Latios)
I didn’t see much organization in his deck.
A ruling wierded us out.
The match ended on time, with me having one prize left, him 4.
I KO his Metagross ex and Latios ex, and that pretty much sealed it.
Doing 120 damage with negative 40 damage on me.
Win
1-2
Round 4 vs. William K.
Dropped after the round started.

Holy frikin’ crap, I can’t win.
Although this is a win, it doesn’t matter if I win everything else.
My resistance is dead.
Only 8 of the 20 5-2’s were allowed into T16, and I turned out to be the 20th.

Round 5 vs. Juan R (Salamence and Altaria)
This is a popular deck that I haven’t seen in a while.
VERY successful.
Hammers on my Scizor and Skarmory.
Eventually I KO his Salamence, but an Altaria wiped the rest out.

Round 6 vs. April W (Ttar Dragonite)
Just looking at it, it looks passable.
Long story short: she was never able to get any energy, and in that fear, she never evolved.
She KOs a Scizor with thunderquake, but Ttar is immediately KOd by a second scizor.
Win
3-3
Round 7 vs. Catherine S (Scizor Gardy)
Woah.
The 3rd girl today.
Almost a mirror match.
Basically, we’re about even, but I get out 3 Metagross by T3 while she no Gardevoir.
I was able to power up even if she KOd my Scizor, and that’s what happened.
Nidoqueen and 3 metals produced 80 damage of pain.
Win
4-3
It doesn’t matter.
You know what really matters?
John.
The kid just got into T16 at second place.
I stick around looking for more pictures, and get into some good MarioKart races with Jesse and ‘em.
John got into the T4.
Now he’s got frikin’ $750 in scholarship.
It wasn’t until later he learned he couldn’t spend it, but he was still happy.
He loses to (Pablo or Josh?)
But that’s alright.
