If you play a Mysterious Fossil from your hand with a Team Magma Hideout would the Fossil be knocked out due to the effect of Team Magma Hideout?

Q. If you play a Mysterious Fossil from your hand with a Team Magma Hideout would the Fossil be knocked out due to the effect of Team Magma Hideout?
A. Yes. Mysterious Fossil is put into play as a Basic Pokemon and therefore would receive a damage counter, which in turn would KO the Mysterious Fossil right away. (May 13, 2004 PUI Rules Team)
