Hey, this will be my first time going to Nationals, and I'm going with my friend who has also never been before. As such, I have a few questions concerning Nationals:

-I pre-ordered a Full Show Pass by before the deadline (May 25th), and I realize I must pick it up there. My dad paid for it via Credit card, but he won't be there. Will I still need some ID to show? If so, how?
-I ordered the Full Show Pass online, whereas my friend ordered it from winning 2nd at Regionals. Is there a seperate line for picking up each of these badges?
-I've heard that I can pick up my badge starting on the Tuesday before, but what about my friend?
-Around what time on the morning of Nats should I be showing up? I've heard registration starts at 9:30, but should I show up at around 9?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm pretty sure that your friend can get his pass at the same time you do. I don't know about any other ID requirements or how the lines will be set up. They usually have a prepaid line and purchase at the door line, and I think last year there was a special line for Pokemon players who won a badge.

I'd suggest showing up around 8:30 for registration. Registration officially begins at 9:00, but as soon the staff is ready, they will start taking registrations. You must have an Origins Event Ticket for Nationals. If you don't have when you pick up your badge, go back and get it.

If you are not in line for the National Championships at 9:30, you will receive a first round loss!

Alright, thanks for the feedback. In regards to my first question though...will I need some ID from my dad? And if so, how will I show it if he's not here?

Also concerning your second paragraph...the Origins Event ticket for Nats will have come with my badge if I've already put the pass on my badge at registration, right?

If you added the event ticket to your badge, then yes, you will have a ticket for the event. Your friend that won a badge at the Regionals will automatically have a ticket. Hope this helps.

You may want to call the contact us # at Origins website or send an email to find out for sure. Also, you might want to have your Dad send along a note with a receipt for you, just in case.

I asked my dad to call the contact us number, and he spoke with one of the ones working at the Nationals Registration counter. The guy said that the note [which I had my dad write as a precaution] should be good enough, but just in case try and print the receipt also. I have just found the receipt in my E-Mail inbox, so I think I've got that all down pat. Thanks very much for responses.

2 last questions: I'll be arriving in the Columbus area on Friday (Probably closer to night time), so is there any time at which the convention center "closes" or I'm unable to pick up my badge in advance? And for those who've attended before, it's at the Greater Columbus Convention Center (400 North High Street), no? It took me forever to find an exact address. x.x

Thanks for answering, and now that I've asked all these questions I feel like a newbie all over again. xD

The Convention Center (yes, that is the correct address) never closes, however parts do shut down at night - most notably the Vendor room. Registration may also close,

Check the Game Fair website. I'm pretty sure I saw hours of operation there. Sorry, I don't have time to go look it up for you right now.

Are you flying in? If so, when you go out of the airport, there are taxis, and shuttle vans there that if you ask them to take you to the convention center, they know where it is! :) some are a bit pricey, so check around.

Alright, good to know that the actual Convention Center doesn't close. Thanks.

No no no, it's fine. I'll check myself but I just wanted to know if by chance anyone here knew.

I'm not flying in, I'll be driving in (Starting tomorrow but with a few pit stops along the way), so I shouldn't have to worry about taxis and buses and such. Still good to know there are some in advance though. Thanks.

-EDIT- The site for Origins and for the Convention Center doesn't appear to say anything about when it's closing. I should be there before it closes though, so this isn't a huge worry.

And as a final question, if I've got drawings on a few of my Pokemon pictures (I've just got my Ralts and Sentret colored in black marker) can I still use those cards? I'd assume yes, seeing as there's nothing done to the text and the pictures aren't pivotal in the actual game.

regarding drawing on Pokemon cards - As long as the text is able to be read and you are not obscuring anything like that, it is fine....

Just a note: In my opinion....defacing Pokemon cards like this, is not an OK thing to do....but that is just my opinion.

If you tell me which cards they are, I'll bring you "clean" ones to use in your deck. Just look for me among all the New England parents. I'm Dylan's Mom. I think you know him from Srs.

Yeah, that's what I thought, as long as the text is readable then the card is fine. I understand how you feel about not drawing on cards also. I'd never draw on Rares of LvX cards though, not like Justin B did to his Typhlosions >.>

The only cards I've drawn on are 4 Ralts, 3 Sentret and 2 Kirlia, but I have spare Sentret and Kirlia, just not Ralts. Don't feel as though you have to bring anything for me, though, as I've asked my friend to bring some Ralts with him because we'll be going to Nats together. Thanks for offering, though, I appreciate it a lot, especially this close to Nats.
