Hi everyone!

Do you live in Oklahoma? Are you too far away from OKC, Tulsa, Ada, or any of the other current Pokemon leagues? Would you just like to rack up more Play! Points and league rewards?
Then you may be interested in...

New Pokemon League in Shawnee!!!
Where?: Oklahoma Baptist University's Geiger Center, northwest tables.
**There will be signs in the GC to direct you.
When?: Sundays from 2-6 pm.
What?: Standard TCG/VG league play from 2-4pm, with a TCG tournament following.
**Tournaments will be $5 per person. 3-4 rounds, depending on how many people. Prizes aren't guaranteed for the first few tournaments, but eventually that is the goal. Tournament matches are for practice and will not be counted toward league prizes.
**Double points will be offered, once per week, for playing the "gym leader" (me!) during league play hours.

Our first league session will be November 17, 2013.
***Please note that we are not yet official, but the application has been sent in and background check will shortly follow. This means I do NOT have league materials yet, but will be getting them ASAP. All points will still be recorded in the mean time.

First league date moved due to prior obligations and poor planning! Terribly sorry!!

Congrats on your new league... I wish you success!

However, unless things change, please don't get your hopes up when it comes to getting the league approved quickly. My application and background check forms were completed in late July, and I'm still awaiting approval... Or, any news for that matter. At first they blamed the delay on Worlds, now they haven't bothered to reply to my ticket or voicemails. So now I have an unhappy shop owner and players... After all the time, money and happiness I've put into to this, they can't seemed to be bothered to take five minutes to let us know what's going on. Oh well, sorry for the the venting...

Anyway, good luck with your league! I hope it works out better than my experience!

I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience. :( I hope you find out soon. It's really disappointing that it's taking so long for you. All I could suggest is maybe even just filling out another application, haha.

I'm hoping it won't take long, but I'm gonna be trying to run things as normally as possible until everything is finished. I'll probably even ask other LO's or TO's in surrounding areas for POP ID cards, to start everyone off ASAP.

Maybe later on in the year, I'd have to work that out with our PTO. We're not even official yet, so it's unlikely any time soon.
