Things are starting to get interesting before free agency even starts

    big news so far:

Tags on big names like Haynesworth, Jared Allen etc. no big surprises there

Pats opt not to place franchise tag on Randy Moss. either they have a long term deal worked out, or they plan on letting Moss walk and make big bucks somewhere else, interesting to see how this plays out

Giants working on a deal for former pro bowl CB, DeAngelo Hall. The Giants secondary was suspect at times, but stepped it up during the playoffs. If they add a probowler like Hall, their dominant d will get even better in '08.

    and

Chargers sign ILB Derek Smith from the 49ers.. interesting move, gives us some depth and experience at the ILB position. Run stopping was clearly a problem in the AFCCG agains the Patriots and Cooper/Wilhelm need some competition and maybe some guidance, since they are both young. Smith might be on the downside of his career but he brings a veteran presence and 11 years of knowledge, and looks like he was brought in to provide that guidance to our young ILBs.
As for the Niners, bringing in Lance Briggs to take smith's spot seems like a posibility. He's a solid pro bowl LB, who will also help Patrick Willis (whos a stud!) in his development.

post other news, and discuss here
