I just got back from the Hidden Legend Prerelease at Niles, IL. I'll admit, I had a fun time at this tournament. I left my house around 11:30 to get there. I waved my mom and dad goodbye and said hello to competition. After winning second place, I decided to make a tourney report for kicks.

12:00-1:00: After registering and getting our cards, I started thinking of ideas. Compared to others, I didnt get the best of cards, so i made a deck the best i can.

Round 1 vs. Castforms/Milotic...

I met up with an old friend that I knew from other prereleases as well as the Pokemon League that was at Woodfield when the WotC store still existed. His main pokemon were Rain Castform and Relicanth. I played Oddish, Meditite, and Wismur. We each got some pretty good hits, but when he used Rain Castform's power to change it to Snow-cloud Castform, things got a little heated up. I sent out my Gloom to KO on of his pokemon, He sent out SC Castform and hit me for 50. I knew i wasnt able to handle another hit like that since Gloom only had a total of 70 HP, so I retreated for Medicham. He retreeats for Relicanth, and flips a heads for sleep. I was able to wake up Medicham once, hit it, and it was KO'ed. He sent out SC Castform and fliped for the attack, but hit a tails. Because of that, I won the match.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Water/Electric Pokemon...

After seeing that he was playing Plusle, Minun, and Lanturn, I knew I was going to have the advantage here. I sent out a Meditite, evolved it to Medicham, and used Power Heal a few times. For those who dont know, Power Heal is similar to Rage, except after doing damage, you remove a damage counter from Medicham. However, one the main problems was that he wasnt able to get energies. Because of that, I won the match.

2-0

Round 3 vs. Wigglytuff ex...

As soon as I saw that my opponent was playing Jigglypuff, I knew what to expect. The problem was that I wasnt able to get any pokemon on the field, so I ended up losing that one.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Grass deck

My opponent was playing a Surskit, whos attack did 10 plus 10 more damage if my pokemon had more energies on it compared to Surskit. So when I evolved my Meditite to Medicham, I kinda took advantage of this attack and started using Power Heal a few times. My Medicham had 60 damage on it, which was good enough for me because he had 50 and 60 HP guys on the field. I knocked them out one at a time, giving me the win.

3-1

So in the end, because of resistance, I got second place in the tournament and won 18 booster packs. I opened them up and found some good things, like Metagross AND Metagross ex.

But now, here is the deck that got me second place...
