The booster packaging states 1:27 for premium cards. (And has always stated it.) My comment of 1:3 boosters is still correct.

A collation problem that kicked out some more premiums does make it easier to collect the set, which could be a problem, I guess. I suspect the impact on organized play is much less.

You see, I don't see how it damages organized play. Are you playing less constructed because there are more Pokemon ex out there? In the case of sealed deck or draft - everyone will be using boosters from the same displays, right?

I hope so because I got about 15 in my first box.

Hey Procrastination. :)

I was blessed to only get two EX Pokemon from six packs in the first run. (Alas, both were Electabuzz, but I traded one.) I was worried about getting a lot more, when my collecting interests were not EX at all.

Once again, my concern here isn't whether I get lots of EX Pokemon or not. My concern is with the impact this change has on other rarities. I'm looking at this from a collector's point of view. For example:

1. With 14 Holo rares and 8 EX rares in R&S, optimally, I can buy 66 boosters and complete the set (as opposed to 42 boosters in the first print run). That's an increase of 28 boosters (almost a whole box)!!!

2. To say that an uncommon is statistically more rare than a non-holo rare is just plain WRONG!!!

Anyway, I hope to hear from Nintendo soon on this switcheroo!

Wait... went back? Since when did Japan even HAVE 11 card boosters? They used to have 10 before Card-e (then got cut to 5).

Hmm... Well... the whole rarity problem comes from the reverse cards, if I'm not mistaken (which I may very well be). So, here are my ideas:
1- Nintendo could axe the reverse holo deal for in favor of an extra uncommon
--or--
2- Beef up booster packs by one card.

Both ideas are doubtful. If I recall correctly, the reason for the reduced booster pack sizes were due to the costs of printing the Dot Codes on Card-es. So if they were to return to the original 11 card boosters or just go to 10 might make packs more expensive. Meh.

Lucky me, i opened about 50 boxes of the first print and got out of each box 11-12 holofoils and 13-14 EX pokemon. So if i understand it right in the latest prints you get a mix of total 12 HOLO/EX?
---------------------------------------------------
one day later
---------------------------------------------------
Today i got new cases of boosterboxes in and wanted to check if the mix was really changed.
And yes after opening 4 boosterboxes out of 4 different sealed cases this is what i got.
3 boxes with 6 EX cards and 5 HOLOcards
1 box with 5 EX cards and 6 HOLOcards.
so that's not a premiumcard 1:27 but 1:29
Is this Nintendo's way to get back on a mixmistake by leaving 1 premium out of each box.
The coming weeks i have to open more boxes and if this same combination occures i will post it.
There is also a strange way the boosters with the premiums are mixed into the box, but i have to open more boxes to see if my argument stands.

All I know is from my one box each of ADV2 & ADV3 that they were 11-card boosters (of course, every booster has 1 basic/dark/metal energy card) FWIW...

What series had 5-card boosters???
