What constitutes an "effect of an attack"? Does any text under an attack count? Or are there only specific things that count? I'm curious as to what Unown G can and can't prevent.

Also, do weakness and Pluspower still apply to an attack that requires coin flipping and flips all tails? And does Pluspower apply (and how) with an attack that targets benched Pokemon?

Finally, is it legal to use a potion on a Pokemon without damage counters? Or to use energy search and not pick an energy (even though there are energies left in the deck)?

    Thanks for everyone's help!

Effect of an attack is everything else an attack does BESIDE the Damage (and how to calculate it)
    Yes all text counts.
Unown G prevents everything from an attack except damage.

If an attack does damage (even if you have to flip to calculate the damage) Pluspower and Weakness is applied.

No Potion is not allowed to use that way, it's a "public knowledge" if a pokemon has damage counters.
If it hasn't damage you cannot use Potion.

Energy Search is something different (like each deck search). Nobody knows what is in the deck, so you can fail to find what you are looking for.

Thank you! That answers just about everything. There was one I wasn't clear on though. If you attack with a coin flipping attack and deal zero damage (by flipping all tails) do you still do 0+weakness or 0+Pluspower? Thanks again.

If you do ZERO damage there is NOTHING to add anything on.
So no weakness/Pluspower/Strength Charm to add to ZERO.

You need to do damage in order to do MORE damage.
