    "2007-2008 Battle Road Spring FAQ"

    Battle Road Spring
    Frequently Asked Questions
    Information is subject to change: Last updated [3/25/2008]

    What are the Pokémon TCG Battle Road Spring tournaments?

    The Pokémon TCG Battle Road Spring tournaments are where players in each of the three POP-recognized age divisions can work on their Premier Ratings, potentially earning a trip to the 2008 World Championships! Results of the Battle Road tournaments count toward your Premier Rating!

    Battle Road tournaments are operated by independent Tournament Organizers across North America.

    Stay tuned for information about Battle Road tournaments outside of North America.
    When are the Pokémon TCG Battle Road Spring tournaments?

    The Pokémon TCG Battle Road Spring tournaments will take place from May 24th through June 15th. International Battle Road events will take place throughout the month of April. Stay tuned for information about Battle Road Spring tournaments in your area.

    Remember, while we frequently update our events schedule, we recommend that you contact the local Tournament Organizer to confirm event schedule information.
    How much does the event cost?

    All Pokémon Organized Play Premier events in North America are FREE! That’s right—there is no admission fee for Battle Road tournaments! Get your decks tuned up, and get down to your local Battle Road location for your first shot at this free event! Organizers may charge for side events run at these tournaments.

    What is the tournament structure?

    The tournament is run using the Modified Constructed Format and Age Modified Swiss pairings. If attendance is appropriate, some Tournament Organizers may choose to run straight Swiss pairings. See the Pokémon Tournament Rules for information about the Modified Format and Swiss. The number of Swiss rounds run will depend on total attendance at the event.

    The sets legal in the Modified Format have recently been updated. Please make sure you’re ready with a legal deck by reviewing the legal sets for the Modified Format here.

    The Battle Road series will have a K-Value of 8. For more information on how the K-Value affects your Premier Rating, please see the Ratings and Rankings FAQ.

    What are the prizes?

    Prizes are awarded to the top 2 players in each age division.

    Our divisions are:

    Junior Division: Born in 1997 or later

    Senior Division: Born in 1993, 1994, 1995, or 1996

    Masters Division: Born in 1992 or earlier

    * 8 Pokémon TCG booster packs.
    * A Victory Medal—Gold promo card

    2 nd Place

    * 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs.

    What do I need to know?

    * Bring your POP ID, if you have one. If you don't have a POP ID, one will be given to you at the event.
    * See the Pokémon Tournament Rules for more information about what to bring to an event.
    * Make sure you arrive on time. If you are late for registration, you may not be able to play in the event.
    * To participate in the event, you must be a player in good standing and abide by the Tournament Rules.
    * See the legal notices for certain eligibility requirements and other information concerning limitations on Pokémon USA Inc.’s liability.

    What happens after the tournament?

    After the tournament ends, the Tournament Organizer will submit the tournament results to Pokémon USA, Inc. Pokémon, which sanctions the tournaments, will determine player rankings. The $2 Parking at the Dallas Battle Roads is for parking in the library garage and will require the person holding the ticket to get it validated before leaving for the day.

    Please let me know any questions about the library that is needed.

    The library is located at the corner of Young and Ervay across from Dallas City Hall. The parking garage entrance is on Wood St. which runs behind the library. There are also meters on the street.

    The following link provides specific directions from the major freeways in Dallas:

    It only about four blocks away. I know that my friend won't be there because he wants to be a part of the guiness book of world records. (A-kon is trying to break the record for most video game cosplay and the time to get him in there is 1-4 that saturday) but I am not sure. I am going as Head Captain Yamamoto so I may show (in cosplay). My problem is that I don't want to miss out on photo op :lol: But yeah I got your number at regionals and I know the area pretty well, so I can show you

    ~~~NOTICE...NOTICE...NOTICE~~~
    There has been a change in venues for the May 24th. That "Battle Roads" event has been canceled, due to the closing of "Insanity Cards & Games". But, thanks to Melissa and Ken, we will have a "Battle Roads" back in McKinney on June 1st. MP Birch has changed some of the details for that event, but I need to make sure of the "Registration Time" with them.
    It won't be long until "Battle Roads" begin and they should be loads of fun!!! Don't forget about the "Majestic Dawn Prereleases" that are starting this Saturday, May 10th in Garland. Please check the "Prerelease Thread" for all of the details.
    Hey kids (or rather, TO's). While I won't be able to play in the Professor Cup anymore, I'm still interesting in "guest judging" if anyone needs an extra head to monitor the tables.
    Tina: the Adam's Mark is about or under half a mile from the library -- not a bad walk at all.
    Well Ken failed his Professor test last week. :lol: And I'm taking mine today. Hopefully I'll pass...
    But you're welcome to judge in the McKinney Battle Roads.
    I didn't pass the test. I got 30 out of 40 answers right. You need 32 to pass....
