Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Origins:who goes for more then pokemon??

I know every year at origins i find games to play, late night events to enter and i play more then one game in the years so here is a question:

When you pokefanatics go to origins do you go just for pokemon or do you go for another events??

I know i go for pokemon, raw deal and i love the exibition hall to see the special guest and the products to buy and view hall

I know polls are only allowed by moderators but this will be a discussion page so feel free to tell us your answers here

I been going to Origins since 1997, back when I was playing Magic and Decipher's Star Wars CCG. I have done alof of volunteering for Decipher in the past too at Origins. Pretty much now, I go just to go. It's only an hour away from me.

Good question.

My daughter and I went to Gencon in 2003 and Origins last year. In both cases, we pretty much stuck to Pokemon.

THIS year, however, we're going on Wednesday and returning on Monday so we can fit in some other events.

I have a list of about 20 games/events that we're looking to do OTHER than Pokemon. I figure that we won't do any Pokemon on Thursday and I may actually skip the Professor Cup just so we can do some other things.

I actually work origins but when i'm not Its pokemon, last year i played duel masters, i play werewolf ALL weekend *** which isnt a origins event but you'll find us pretty easy*** This year i'm looking forward to actually finding the risk events, and go out for origins paintballing.

If i can, i'll usually pick up any card game having a draft because drafts are just fun.... then i'll sell the cards back off to people.

Last year was our first trip to Origins and we went mainly to play Pokemon.

We had so much more fun at the other events that we were already planning to go back this year whether or not Nationals would be there!

Pokemon is still our main game, but Origins offers a lot of fun things to do.

It's hard just to focus on one game. Although, when Saturday comes around, you make the decsion on your favorite game to play, most of the big events are on Saturday. Last year, I split Pokemon and Megaman, and then in years past I played Pokemon and Magi-Nation. This year, I won't be in any events, but voluntering for Decipher, but if I have any down time, I am running off to a Pokemon event.

As a former Volunteer of Decipher's, I can tell you this. You will not get any downtime to play in any events, unless it is after the exhibit hall closes. They stick you at the booth all day to do demos. You may get lucky and run a tournament. I did it for 3 years at Origins. It sucked, but the $200.00 and the 2 boosters of Decipher product was kinda worth it.

they have already said that there is a good chance of me running a event or two ( that would be cool) and I have had frineds who have voulenterred at Origins, and they never had down time. But hey, you never know.

Running tournaments for them, seemed more enjoyable than doing demos all day long.

I will be stopping by the Decipher booth, to say hi to some old friends.

I'll be stopping by the Bandai booth to say hi to my friends. That had me do demo work for the convention they had here in Nevada.

For the last 2 years, every night they've had a big 10 handed ring game of Texas Hold'em at the back tables away from the TCGs. I love playing, even though I lost last year :D. THIS YEA WILL BE DIFFERENT!

This year i was loking to get into those holdem events. Heard there are midnight events that are dealers choice so i hope to get in and win some fun prizes.

Yeah, i'll be at the texas holdum event, got myself a hat and sunglasses just for it.

As for the paintball event, I cant remember what section of the book it was in but it was under a diffrent name then "paintball" But what it was .... about $16- 20 for your gear, your ride, and you got food for the day untill it was time to come back.

Don't know if it'll show this year, might have to ask me when I'm there for details *** or someone else working the events***

Looking back I just got reminded last year i ended up running The duel masters demo wizards had because they were teaching it wrong * drops head* I didnt get anything out of that either
