STRATEGY: Basically, this is single-type, which keeps it "in the family." However, both of these Pokemon have the capacity to hit for 50 damage on T2: Kricketune by itself, or Parasect's attack including Poison. Both of these Pokemon are weak to Fire, which puts the deck in danger to Infernape, Ninetales, et al, but I think it's safer and better than Kricketune-only.

Tom you realize that parasect doesnt say +40 it says the base damage becomes 40 so it only does 50 max and thats for one turn.

Dang Aaron. You're right. lol I fixed the strategy to reflect that.

I still think it's pretty good.

Get rid of the Scramble and add something better then Parasect!

I don't like Scramble in decks that require to win.

maybe you could use roserade instead. you can do 30 + posion (which i know isnt a WHOLE lot) on turn 2, then next turn do 50 and 30 to their bench with its second attack, and it also has 90 hp.

the budew and roselia arnt bad either.

you could play kricketune and vespiquen. Kricketune max''s to 80 and if it gets damaged, switch and heal.

you're going to switch out to heal an 80 hp pokemon that is terrible in the late game?

Roserade sounds OK. Vespiqueen does not.

or just play potion and save the retreating, mediocre attack, and bad card.

Really, what is the point of Parasect here? When Kricketune already does the same thing but better? Seriously. I mean apart from decreasing consistency and leaving you with a subpar trainer line of course.

Kricketune is the point. But I don't buy into this T2 4-Basic stuff. I think Kricketune rocks but in the proper setting, so I gave it the best Grass partner, IMO. No, I don't have a super-creative, hard-to-set-up stategy... just two Stage 1 Pokemon which hit hard. I guess I'm all about that early power.

BTW, what is so subpar about the Trainer line?

i think it's better with parasect. not 4-4 though, 2-2 maybe.

Compared I mean, its not bad, but you're using 8 spaces on a completely unnecesary line that could be replaced with more draw/search/disruption. That's all.

KG why don't you like the mono-basic engine? I'm curious.

4 spots with a 2-2 line, and you're saving yourself mulligans and adding an attacker for when you don't rip the night maintenence/***.

OK, let's say I go 2-2 Parasect. I'm thinking Buffer Piece.

The mono-basic hasn't worked for me, neither Kricketune nor Ninetales, nor any other. Not that it should be abandoned if you like it or it works for you: it just doesn't suit me.

Buffer Piece would be VERY useful.

OK, I split the difference. I dropped Parasect to 3-3 and added 2 Buffer Piece. I'm having a tough time justifying 6 Basics.
