Pokémon Trading Card Game Reveals Secret Legend In Great Encounters Expansion

Umm.....Night Maintenance would still see about the same play...For decks that quickly go through there deck...its a must, and for player who don't want to rely on luck, then they will play maintenace. Maintenace>TSD.

i have to agree with almost everyone else on this one. Night Maintenance is better then TSD. So many times already this year I have played a TSD and rolled triple tails. So it's pretty much a dead card in the deck. At times TSD can be a life safer, but it goes down to the flips. For the record I own 3 TSD, even then I usually play 1 TSD/1 NM.

Another thing that NM does is that it improves your Great Ball/Quick Ball efficiency in T2 decks. For most part you run 4/4 on those for consistency purposes. So after you get your T2 Magmortar or T2 Blissey what are the other 3 quick balls doing? Waiting their turn once NM has been played.

Well, that part about a new legendary "rising from the darkness" basically confirms Darkrai for me, though I suppose it could vaguely be linked to Cresselia (who is also very cool).

I wish I had TSD...

Also, Porygon2 as the prerelease card is surprising, as Porygon2 can actually be used instead of serving as binder fodder.

Ill admit togekiss looks like garbage but its also good because mid/late game it can be devastating and i see a combo brewing with him and the new porygon z. The ability to draw 10 cards and the energy u get can be used to make porygon's type is nasty. Plus look at lake boundry ,it can make the 2 devasating

I wish I had TSD too.

I think SOME people (including me) would ALMOST always play TSD over NM. I guess NM could be used in some decks over TSD. Personly, I think that I would have to have a REALLY bad day to roll 3 tails on a TSD. Maybe I just get more Heads then Tails. But I only have played like 1 flippy deck. It was a Blissey/Blastoise deck with a Lumineon as a tech. I had 4 ER2S!!!!! I got out all 4 of the ER2s. 2 of them them were tails. After that, I ditched it for Banbliss.

Once we get the Darkrai and Darkrai Lv. X, Darkwing Duck will become a much stronger deck, and the Togekiss is amazing! =D

Too bad porygon Z's attack need to flip coins. Otherwise, it will be powerful against gallade and gardevoir (you can OHKO IF you got 2/3 heads, but provided you discard a psychic before that. =p)

They're not the exact same pics!
Ours say "PokeGym" on them while his says "PokeBeach" on his.

Duh.

So, something like:

:thumb::smile::wink::biggrin:No:biggrin::wink: :smile: :thumb:

Is that what you mean?

Poke-Pop, - I like, I like!

I always roll tails on TSD. Traded all 3 of mine away in a jiffy. I just use NM.

...I get a BLAST when my opponent rolls three tails as well, (and SMILE  from ear to ear!):

Togekiss can also go with Magmortar SW 20x is better than 20+

...Yeah, I was just thinking that as well.

^And the legendary birds as well. I could care less about Articuno, but both Moltres and Zapdos are playable material in my eyes. I don't see why more people aren't upset with the lack of cards here. I really thought that the format would shape up with this set, but now I'm starting to think that Togekiss is the only thing that looks new and promising (which, as Prime pointed out, is the exact trend we've been seeing with every set so far). I know that for a lot of people it doesn't matter, as they either don't play competitively or just collect the cards, but for the people who really like the strategy and competition involved with this game, this is disappointing.

You know what would be sweet? if PUI would give out the checklist for each set when they give out the press information. Why would this be sweet?
  • It would lower people's need to see the leaked cards. If we knew what was in the set already, would we need to see the leaked cards to see if any secret cards were inserted into the sets? Nope. The only use for leaked cards would be for those who have to be certain what each card says, word for word, in the english prints.
  • It might help not spoil the pre-release events. Leaked cards partially spoil the surprise factor of pre-releases. Even though many people don't care, there is always that small part of the events that are ruined for people. If people don't need to see the leaked cards to see what cards are in the set, and they can find that information out from the checklist, they will be less prone to spoiling the set for themselves when the cards (eventually) get leaked.
  • It would provide players with information that would be vital in planning for the future. Those that do go out and buy japanese cards will get their time wasted if certain cards they have been playtesting with don't come out in the english release of the sets. This hasn't been as big of a problem before, but it is becoming a bigger problem as each set goes by. If players had a checklist of the set, they would know what cards will be in the set and can plan better for the future tournaments when those cards come out.
I don't see any downsides of releasing a checklist. Some people might get disappointed, like the ultra secretive people that don't want any aspect of the set to be spoiled for them, but the press images also partially spoil the set for them too. People already use the handful of images to logically put together a checklist. Why not supply an official checklist and let the guessing stop?

So people, if you like the idea, let POP/PUI know. We want checklists, and we want them now!
