...for $17.99. Six boosters: 1 Dragon Frontiers, 2 Holon Phantoms, 2 Crystal Guardians, 1 Deoxys; five POP holo promos: POP1 Metagross and Blaziken, POP 3 Flareon, Vaporeon and Jolteon, and a coin. This is a PUI product, not an aftermarket bundle. As with anything at Costco, grab it now...looks like the brand is definitely back, as I don't remember the last time I saw anything Pokemon other than the videogames there! :D

    Bleh. That doesn't sound very Costco-y. :(

How does it not sound like Costco? They sell stuff in bulk, so why not Pokemon cards?

Looks to me like they are dumping all the old excess stuff laying around....Why not try distribute the new stuff for everyone to get rather than only specific locations...makes no sense to me.

None of the three DP sets included? Oh well, this package is still pretty awesome.

think of who this is being marketed towards: it's in the gift/toy section of costco.

this isn't for the hardcore gamerz, but the same demographic as the blisterpack bundles at target: little kids and/or collectors, and those who buy holiday presents for them. i can see this selling rather well, and quickly. and it's a nice indicator of how the brand has bounced back into popularity.

since i don't usually buy the target packs just to get the POP holos, imo this is a nice set, at a very fair price point. i plan to take it to league tomorrow night and i'm sure there will be people heading over to costco ASAP afterwards...

Actually Kettler, costco used to sell these when the game was in it's marketing prime (Yah, when people were fighting over the cards). It was usually 5 base set 2 packs, which isn't that bad.

Oh don't get me wrong, I 100% agree with you! It's just...As a frequent customer of Costco's (Read: frequent food sample leech n_n), I'd expect it to be a "bit cheaper than $18 for excess product (like...$16.99-ish range).

Remember, you are also paying for the plastci packaging the cards come in as well.

Well, let's somewhat break down the cost here somewhat:

The DF, HP, and CG packs are still about $3.49 or so at places like Target (been a while since I've checked), and there's 5 of them in this bundle, so that works out to $17.45 (not including tax).

The DX pack is old, so about $2.99 or so I think is about the going rate (not including tax).

The 5 POP 5 foils, eh, maybe a dollar each on ebay or so? (not including shipping and possible tax). So there's another $5 there.

The coin is basically thrown in and immaterial to the overall cost. If you want to get picky, 1 cent.

So in total, that works out to about $25.45 (not including tax) that you'd spend in stores otherwise for the individual blister packs and POP cards. So it being at Costco for only $17.99 is a pretty good deal, as you save $7.46 that you'd otherwise spend.

Heck, just the cost of the 5 current modified packs in stores is pretty much the cost of this bundle, but with the bundle you get some nice extras thrown in for no additional cost. Seems like a good deal to me.

I personally wouldn't buy this but it is great for the little kids who only like the shiny cards.

But you are getting old boosters, the cards from does sets have little demand, only CG might be nice (Delcatty Ex, Castaway, etc.)

Well, regardless of their age or not, they are still sold at the MSRP usually anyways.

I went to costco today with my mom. I did'nt see this on pokegym so I thought the cards were fake. I brought one and I got a wind storm and a gardy EX.

looks like the european 2 booster blister with the POP 3 promos at the top with 4 more boosters thrown in at the bottom..

If it is there should be two different coins ..from memory..
