Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon Checklists - Update 1-5-21!

56 total (not including japanese lv. X's). Just search Lv. X on bulbapedia, and it will show you all the Lv. X's along with what set they are from.

Thanks, do you know how many w/ promos though?

too lazy to go and count 1 by 1 :p

just did, its 56 + 19 = 75.

Hmm, how should I arrange my ultra pro binder... Hmmm

I need to get to 81, maybe I'll put in 6x time space distortions?

Another good idea for a checklist would be for staff promos. I have been trying to search for a completed list of staff promos for awhile, and cannot seem to find one.

Update

2/2/13
  • Added new set "55 Plasma Storm"
  • Updated "00 Totals" workbook to include Plasma Storm and to fix some small errors

Thanks for the update dude!

I tried having a go myself at helping make these checklists a lot easier to generate, like with your conditional formatting so far -to make a "template" of sorts, would future-proof your work and keep these the preferred checklists by the community I think!

I can see what you were trying to do with column C, but that it doesn't work (or at least doesn't seem to). I've come up with this formula that should fix it, paste into B3 and then repeat down:

=IF(C3="c","●",IF(C3="u","♦",IF(C3="r","★",IF(C3="h","★H",IF(C3="ex","★EX",IF(C3="fa","★FA",IF(C3="sc","★H","?")))))))

That should contain the circle, diamond and star symbols already - the font is Arial Unicode MS. If it isn't displaying properly on here you'll have to add them again in word/something using Insert Symbol. They are in the "Miscellaneous symbols" section, a little spread apart but you should find them (go straight to that section if you can, lotta characters!).

Hope that helps, I'll see if I can't help out with some of the promo listings in the meantime. Don't want to push in though dude, you put a lot of work into this and it's yours - tell me to get lost if you want!

Cheers mate!

Even better - a hollow star for super-rares :D

=IF(C3="c","●",IF(C3="u","♦",IF(C3="r","★",IF(C3="h","★H",IF(C3="ex","☆EX",IF(C3="fa","☆FA",IF(C3="sc","☆H","?")))))))

OK weird, it added a space in the last IF, "s c". Take that out and its good - trying again:
=IF(C3="c","●",IF(C3="u","♦",IF(C3="r","★",IF(C3="h","★H",IF(C3="ex","☆EX",IF(C3="fa","☆FA",IF(C3="sc","☆H","?")))))))

Thanks for the ideas. Right now it's not too bad to put the rarities in, I just copy the letter and symbol from a previous sheet and make it fit the new set. I do like the hollow star though, I might look into putting that in.

Is Arial Unicode MS a standard font? Right now I'm using Wingdings, which I know is standard. I don't want to use a font that some people might not have.

The promo pages on their own aren't the problem for me. I just have to figure out how to make a promo totals page. Having something like a FA promo can be messy in a totals page. I just have to figure out how to make it look good. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its standard - but even if not, after making that formula and changing the font of the cells afterwards, the symbols seem to be in most fonts - normal Arial displays them all fine as well, with the letters next to them. For some reason I found them in one font, but they work in all!

Try Arial at 9pt, looks quite good. Arial is most definitely a standard font I think you'll agree!

True, there are many different types of promo releases, some with stamps, alternate holos, non-holos etc. Maybe have the promo P1 P2 workbooks' Rarity Word column have the information for all different holo types like p-alt p-cosmos, p-fa, p-rev2005, p-rev2011 etc if you follow. It's going to look messy though no matter what if it's a page of everything, I expect some differences are unique to 1 or 2 cards ever. Perhaps have a separate Promo Totals book altogether...

Giving all the unique types their own count each on a totals page would be a bit much I think, but you could have an "additional info" column in the set books with a text explanation of the card differences to a "standard card of the same number/set", ala misprints and alt prints, or for promos their subset name (southern islands, wizards stamped set, pre-release cards, league season cards etc) with any other known variances also given a separate entry. I would group promo pages together per generation.

Example, there are two slightly different wizards promos for 51 and 52, they would each have their own row, numbered as 51/52 but the 2nd entry for each would have "Pokemon Center NY stamp" in the additional info column. It's laborious but it would be all-encompassing, and the info isn't going to change much once its down. Let me know what you think or if you've had any ideas yourself!

"Asterism" (lol) a Wizards Shining symbol: ⁂
Italic hollow star, a good Nintendo Pokemon-star symbol:
Both in Arial.

I'll look into putting the different symbols into the next set. I might go back and redo all the symbols, it depends on whether I would need to go back and change other things though.

I think I've figured out a way to pull what cards you have remaining in different sets. I can do it either within each sheet, which would require everyone to redo each workbook or put them on a separate "totals" like workbook, what's everyone's preference.

Also, right now I have it so that if the card doesn't exist as they variation (like a RH EX) you can't even select it. It seems to make it more difficult to copy/paste thought. Does anyone have any preference to how it's laid out?

I have the complete staff promos, if you're interested. Just PM me..

Sounds good, when I go about doing that I'll contact you.

Before I finish up the promos I'm going to clean up the sheets some more and add in another worksheet that shows what cards you have remaining per set. The formatting of it will be as follows (example)

1 - Turtwig ("common symbol")

In order to do that I need to edit the individual sheets to add some formulas to pull the correct data. Since I'm going to be editing every sheet anyway, I'm going to go ahead and change the rarity symbols to the Ariel Unicode versions that pasty2k2 mentioned earlier. Doing this will change the way I can add rarities, allowing me to quickly add the rarities for future sets. I might also add additional categories or symbols as I see fit. I'll also remove the lock on the cards that don't exist (like RH EXs). This made it harder to copy/paste. I'm just going to trust that people don't remove those.

I'm also going to look into the conditional formatting rules that I use. The more recent sets show the formatting on mobile office suites, but the older ones don't. I'll look into that and correct it if necessary.

If anyone has any formatting errors (type color, number, rarity) they've found please let me know as soon as you can. It'll be easier to fix anything now rather than having to go back.

Editing all these sheets is going to take a couple weeks with the limited time I have. I'm going to release them all at once, so you might not hear anything from me for a while. Continue using the sheets that are out there right now, they're all still good. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

Let me know if you need help with the English Promos... I have almost all of them...99% done..just missing some of the hard to find ones like the super ultra rare english ones ie (Piplup San Diego 07)

If you can put them in an excel sheet with number, name and any special items (comes RH instead of normal type of stuff) and separate them by set, I'll go about formatting it to look the same as all the other ones.

I'll probably still wait to release them until I can release everything at once though, but it'll be another thing off my plate.

Okay, then let me know when you are ready for it... I'll give you the important info like if a RH exist... Also got all the city/state/national championships, all prereleases, and all battle roads promos.

Thanks for the update - sounds good, only two tiny little things I've spotted otherwise is the title for "Nobel Victories", it's meant to be "Noble Victories", but not an issue if its a pain to change as you've rigged it into the Totals I expect.

Second is the totals page column widths aren't all set up for when the numbers go above 1000, ### appears for rev holo totals. Again, v minor, don't worry about it if you forget, I just resize after I download!

Lookin forward to seeing the next lot, cheers dude!

Haha, that's embarrassing. The reason I'm an engineer is so that I don't have to worry about spelling, lol. I'll be able to correct that for the next release.

I'll look into making everything the same width or maybe even making it somehow auto fit as necessary.

If we could get something like this with Japanese Sets...that would be amazing

Regular Japanese sets are on my list of things to do. I probably won't be able to get to them until after this current project and the English promos are completed though.

Is anyone interested in being able to print out the checklists? I think I've found a way to remove the black background when printing, I'll look more into it if it's something that's wanted.

Sounds good, some Japanese sets would be awesome. Just out of curiosity, what kind of engineer are you? Since you are an excel pro I'd guess Electrical or Chemical since those seem to be the two excel heavy fields (matlab+excel ftw)

I don't really need printed checklists personally, it's much easier to edit the data in excel since you can enter the amount you have. If I had to reprint every time I added/traded/sold a card that would be annoying haha.

Graduated in Aero, working in oil and gas.

Quick update/suggestions.

I've made a couple changes that I'd like people to review before I go and make it to every list. Updated files are located here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qjc6ge0kvfix5eq/zYq_pwObCb?m

3 things.
1- I've changed the Base Set list to include 3rd and 4th edition. I'll be updating the totals page to reflect this somehow.
2- I've changed Jungle to have the new rarity symbols using Ariel Unicode and a couple backend things needed for the remaining sheet.
3- I've created "000 Remaining Test" to show what cards are remaining per set. Right now it only uses the Jungle sheet that's in the same folder, but if it looks good to everyone I'll do it for the remaining sets, maybe even add some color or something.

If people can take a look at the sheets and let me know if anything looks off or not or suggestions I would appreciate it. Once I get some responses I'll start finishing up the remaining sets.
