Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon Video Game Showdown

I got an invite.
My secret team pwns(yes, you too, blissey)

i lose again!!! no but no invite, just curious as to how many of the 128 will actually show??? thats the one thing i'm very curious to see...any predictions?

Did anyone else notice that the form deadline is 'by June 28th' or the first day of US Nationals?!?! That stinks because it certainly seems that players will not be able to compete in both Worlds as is understandable due to logistics but it is forcing people to decide before a rational decision can be made. I don't want to say my son is coming to NY for the Showdown Qualifier if he really isn't and there is still the possibility that he will get an invite at Nationals.

To the powers that be, any way that deadline can be extended by a few days?

Oh really? You've met all of them? =/ Don't bash people....

i didnt say all i said most lolz Some players that are in are pretty good from the other forums but a lot of the real good players didnt make it thats all i meant lolz. There is SOME good players in it

lol Drew.

I don't think I will be TOO bad, as I know some great strategies and know the whole concept behind IV's EV's and stuff.

IMO the facts are the really dedicated players, who actually train and breed to get the good IV's and movesets, got the short end of the pokerod because the test was sooooo easy, and the fact that the 128 were chosen at random means that if i brought the game yesterday i had the same chance as the person who brought the game on day 1. Then to add to it, if the 128 dont show, their spots will be ,again, randomly chosen by those who just happen to show up and fill out a form. So lets say you do go, and get their early so you can put your name in the rafflel(cause thats what it is) then you have the same chance as the kid who just happened to hear about it last night from a friend, got on a train, and put his name in before the cutoff. I just wonder if this is they way JAPAN is deciding their "best players".

My son got an invite, and we had the same dilemma as Heatherdu. My son has now earned an invite to play in tcg worlds, but in order to go to FL for video game show down the player has to win in NY. I actually signed my video game show down paperwork with Angela at Nationals and they are really looking forward to the showdown being a FUN event. I figure it couldn't hurt to get the paperwork in. If he decided not to go to NY, no harm done, the place will get passed on to someone else to play and have fun. He wants to go for the fun and to hopefully enjoy participating and enjoying NYC and Nintendo world. I'm going to AAA to look into our travel arrangements and maybe a hotel for 1 night tomorrow and we'll see what the costs will be and then decide.

Right now, I may have the same dilemma. However, you have to remember, if you earn an invite at the VGS Qualifier and use the trip you have to play in that. But you can always just not sign up for the TCG if you qualify for both. I am going to play and have fun. If I don't do well I can always play in TCG worlds. The fact that the VGS Qualifier has a free trip attached is the main reason I am going to play. :thumb:

Looks at this point that we are going to pass on this invite....wish we could do it, and still may, but I don't think so. Saving $$ for FL Worlds to play TCG.

We had reconsidered making this trip and checked into it more today. The hotels were very booked up and it was hard to find anything even close to a reasonable price range. We decided to pass on it.
