Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Polideck just got a little better...

OK, let's look at it like this.

I have Enthusiasm set up with Poliwrath active.

Let's say you Supreme Blast it.

I can do a couple things:
-I send out Poliwag. Attach Fighting. TSD/Bebe's for Poliwrath, then Rare Candy, find another Poliwag, Focus Punch for KO.
-I send out Poliwhirl. Attach Fighting. TSD/Bebe's for Poliwrath and evolve, find another Poliwhirl and evolve benched Poliwag, Focus Punch for KO.

Not to mention if I had to use Azelf to find a Poliwag, I'll have bait while I get Enthusiasm set up again.

That doesn't sound that hard, does it? Besides, I'm working on a build focused on juggling Focus Punches early game, so Enthusiasm is something I won't be doing until late game.
That doesn't sound hard? It sounds nearly impossible to do multiple times and is definately not worth the speed you sacrifice to do it.

nearly impossible to do multiple times

Exactly. That's why there's only 1 Politoed. I'm not saying it's easy to set it up, but it is a good late-game surprise, and usually getting 1 KO with it will give you plenty of tempo.

THE DECK DOES NOT RELY ON POLITOED TO WIN GAMES. Poliwrath wins games.

4 Poliwags +4 Call+4 Rare Candy its not hard to place poliwags and baltoy, then next turn or attach TM1,get poliwhirl, then candy Poliwrath and candy Politoed, especally since we have Furret to do all this with.

Excuse me, why is part of the people here simply comparing what i call the PoliPower to AMU?
Besides i kinda like the deck
politoed is just a bonus like the supes said

Question:if your poliwhirl was damaged, would the game remember that when you evolve it or would it be gone like special conditions?

I would imagine that switching, evolving a leveling up would rid you of it. It works that way for Frenzy Plant, after all. Effects are gone when you do those things.

^Because of how its worded, benching it does not remove the effect. Same with if it got sniped on the bench. Evolving it makes it poliwrath, and since it wasn't wrath last turn, poliwrath wasn't damaged.

Poliwrath isn't a great pokemon because of sniping. If poliwrath gets any damage from kingdra, empoleon, magmortar, etc, it can't do 60 for 1. Machamp is much better than poliwrath, and ends up doing more damage, even though the 2 cards are so much alike.

I see Poliwrath and Politoed comboing really well with Mantine/Mantyke, and Suicune. Mantine lets you cycle Focus Punches for free if that's what your deck is doing at the time, or if you're going for the Enthusiasm setup, use Suicune to recyle your whole evolution line:

Poliwrath active
Poliwag, Poliwhirl and Politoed benched
Poliwrath gets knocked out
Send up Poliwhirl
Drop Suicune, get back wag,whirl,wrath
Evolve active Poliwhirl and benched Poliwag, play the Poliwag you got from Suicune
Continue Poliwrath beatdown

not really good as a late game surprise either. by the time you get to "late game" at least one of them are going to be KO'ed. i would think the only way to run this deck would be with 4 Night Maintenances.

4 Night Maintenances.

Hit the nail on the head. Suicune as mentioned above is also a nifty idea. And TSD might work well here too.

@Jayson: Funny, I thought of Mantine as well! It's basically aggro Poliwrath and switch around with Focus Punch, then once they get rid of 1 or 2 you go in for Politoed. I'll have to build and test it some, but it looks interesting.

Also, Poliwag's 2nd attack is quite awesome. I didn't notice it before either lol
