Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pop 6 is here!

Wow, this is disappointing...
I can understand that collectors would want these cards, but what about the players?
And this is the point.
The players are those who get most of the POP Boosters, not the collectors. They really should have made them more interesting for players with some Trainers (Windstorm!), or at least put a super rare like Lv.X or something in.

this is a real "surprise"...

:nonono:what were you expecting?c'mon this is the year when they blew off almost every good deck in the format by making 5 sets in a row non-legal for tournaments ...this pop set was a highly expected one thus, any single card reprinted, would have ended up being dissapointing..."why didn't they re-print this..or that"...but in a format with a lack of good trainers...they at least should have re-printed a good supporter, or a couple of energies...look at pop 5....there are at least 6 good cards...6...i mean...there's no comparison...they did rare candy...which is an extra difficult card to get in my country....double rainbow energy?....absolutely amazing...and let me tell you those cards separate competitive from non competitive players ( well, at least in my country)...i mean in order to make this thing better, they should run a poll or something, to know what people is expecting...and no, by no way they are thinking about collectors...they just don't give the production of pop promo cards, a real good thought...:frown:

POP Sets need a total reboot. SERIOUSLY. The rarities are messed up, the promos inside of them are LAME and nobody competitive really wants them.

It's free, and I am appreciative of them being given to me for free, but these things are STOOPID

So what if its free?? *Here free garbage*

But people were expecting too much from this set. Im tired of hearing admin and transceiver a billion times. I honestly was just hoping for somewhat useful cards like remakes of pokemon reversal and fluffy berry. Cards that arent GREAT but are good. But this is a complete joke. Lets be honest, most of everyones pop packs are going straight to the garbage. Dont get me wrong i love alt art, even reprints of reprints are OK. Seriously that turtwig looks awesome. But not so many useless ones though (Pachirisu and Manaphy FTL!!!!). If we got lets say, this list

Rare
1 - Bastiodon
2 - Lucario (D/P set reprint with different art)
3 - Pokemon Reversal
4 - Rainbow Energy
5 - Rampardos

Uncommmon
6 - Drifloon
7 - Gible
8 - Pikachu
9 - Riolu (D/P set reprint with different art)
10 - Staravia

Common
11 - Bidoof
12 - Buneary
13 - Cherubi
14 - Chimchar (DP02 promo reprint)
15 - Piplup (DP03 promo reprint)
16 - Starly
17 - Turtwig (DP01 promo reprint)

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN OK!!!!! JUST ADDING 2 AVERAGE CARDS THAT ARE COMPETITIVE WOULD HAVE MADE THE SET DECENT!!! Would have that been so hard for them to do!? We would have gotten cute reprints (again) of the hoenn starters and returns of cards that were semi useful in certain decks.

But of course once again the pokemon community is disappointed. This is getting old.....

Pokemon Reversal by itself would have sent a tide of change throughout the format. I think POP might underestimate how big of an impact having good cards in these POP sets have on a format. How it can make or break a format in certain circumstances.

This looks familiar...

Pokemon Reversal = Rocket's Admin.
MT Lumineon = DS Vaporeon ex
Palkia Lv. X = PK Metagross ex

Once again, we're left with clunky Pokemon to do what a simple trainer could otherwise do. I guess Pokemon Reversal may get reprinted later, but that's what I said about Rocket's Admin., and we all know how that went. :frown:

Soo... what do you guys think will be in POP 7?

Totally dissapointed... why POP5 is so good and this is... i reserve the word...

Moment... market strategy? Anyone will search for POP5 now...

How many promo Lukario exs were there in Japan and they couldn't have put any of those in the set (or any of those promo Munchlax we never got). What a garbage set. All they would have had to put in it to make it okay would have been 2 or 3 good reprint trainers (PK Reversal, ER2, Wally's Training, Lanette's Net Search, Holon Scientist any of those would have been nice)and Rainbow Energy and we would have been fine with the old art on those as oppossed to new art on cards that we just got and that some already have alt. art promos of.

3 - Pokémon Reversal
I for one hope that Reversal never comes back. It's almost as bad as ER2. I hate, hate, hate, HATE! those cards. It's not because they've cost me games, or that I don't like to run flippy cards, it's that they can only be run in certain decks, ones that have room, and those decks usually have plenty of room in them, and that a single heads flip can determine the outcome of a game. I would much rather see Energy Removal or even Super Energy Removal than ER2 or Reversal. At least ER and SER are predictable and can be anticipated, therefore more about strategy. If you want to bring back a card how about Double Gust! Now there's a card that invoked strategy!

More on the topic of POP 6, if the set is bad, maybe they are setting up a pattern. Bad sets at the beginning of the season, and progressively better as the season goes on.

To be honest with you, I'm not too fond of Pokemon Reversal either. However, there is currently no way to bring out a Pokemon on the bench with a trainer card anymore, which means that players have to depend on clunky cards like Lumineon and random junk to pull a Pokemon up from the bench. This scenario has happened before (Rocket's Admin.), and it basically ruined last year's season for many players. I would love to see Double Gust get reprinted (or Pow! Hand Extension), but I definitely don't expect it to happen. At this point, I'd be impressed if anything before a DP set gets reprinted. Plenty of pre-DP stuff should be reprinted, but I'm not getting my hopes up anymore.

As far as the pattern you mention, I would question why POP would want to release a bad set to begin with. It doesn't really make sense. At the start of the new season, you'd think that they'd offer a POP set with cards that are actually playable; this would interest everyone, from collector's to extremely competitive players to casual league attenders. I just don't see anyone having any interest in this POP set.

I would have been happier with reprints of basic dark and basic metal than most of the cards in this pop set. I also agree a few less game breaking supporters would have made this a lot more fun, Holon Farmer, heck even Night Maintenece, Castaway, Windstorm, and Cessation Crystal would have been welcome reprints. Those wouldn't even affect the current pool of cards.

I was hoping Rainbow Energy, either Mr Briney's compassion or Mary's Request, and maybe a rotated out Ex (Jolteon Ex, Banette Ex, Mew Ex) would have returned to shake up the format for this year. It would also have been nice to see different versions of the cards they did put in. An alternate Lucario or Manaphy would make both the collectors and the players happier. Hopefully Bastiodon and Rampardos are different than their MT versions, so there is at least something too look for in this set.

Darkwalker makes an amazing point, Dark and Metal basic energies are still too difficult to obtain, especially considering PUI refuses to make them available for prereleases. And I agree that Rainbow Energy needs to make a return, all in all, this is one of the worst POP sets in history, rivaling the infamous POP1 itself.
