PTCGO's Future...

What do you guys think about PTCGO holding online tournaments and later down the road it possibly counting towards your points standings and maybe affecting your worlds invite or even PTCGO having it's own thing at big time tournaments like nats/regs/worlds?

i think its good so that way you can get more points if you can't make it to the events

my thoughts exactly, it would be great for people who can't make certain events, then again it could hinder the turnout of event(s) attendance...

Maybe at some point they will run PTCGO tournaments with Prizes, maybe invites for the winners.

But I don't think they will have them counting for the same Championship Points structure as the card game.

There's also a huge potential for cheating that they will need to address in some way . . . Older players helping Juniors, friends giving advice during matches, multiple accounts etc.

It'd have to have it's own type of events and be watched very carefully is some way...

I think that it is possible that they can have tournaments,but mario is right. There is no possible way to tell if a player is cheating in any way. That kinda takes away any chance for prizes. Maybe the prizes could be like codes and player tokens. That would (kinda) be fair.

Indeed. Sadly, if one leaves any holes for abuse, people will take them. Short of requiring a webcam (hint: never) it'll never be verifiable. (And even then there's ways to cheat that)
