I'm trying to figure out the specifics of a few moves and Revenge has me a bit puzzled. The guides I've read say that Revenge deals double damage if the pokemon using it had damage before attacking. Now does this mean that as long as the pokemon is below maximum HP that it'll deal double damage or does it mean the pokemon has to be hit with a damage dealing attack and then hit with Revenge?

no, if he takes damage at any point and uses this technique it does 2x base

I think it works more like the move 'Rage', rather than the move Counter. With Rage, if you get hit by your enemy on their previous attack (ie- if they use tackle, but not if they use growl, one does damage, the other doesn't), then it boosts Rage's attack.

From what I can tell with Revenge, it doubles the attack but only for the one attack (so the attack power will be 120 for a non-fighting type, and never more than that). After you hit them with Revenge, they have to attack you again if you want Revenge's attack power to go back to double.

Anyways, I think that's right. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.
