There are only a handful of CC tournaments unreported, but it is easy enough to run the stats again when those get in.

oklahoma has a top 50 player

  8. 15 Players in the 1800 Club.
Texas has the lead when it comes to the 1800 Club with three members. Adam G, David M. and Travis B.
    Florida has two.
You do the math and that leaves ten states with one.

    6 are Jr's ( Two from Texas)
    4 are Sr's
    5 are Ma's. ( Two from Florida)

Looks like TX and FL are really making an early showing in all age groups.

So I wonder...if I show up at TX States will I get to play a bunch of high rated people, or are they in diff corners of the State and end up playing in seperate States? Same ? for Florida.

A bunch of high rated people! Most of the higher ranking players will more than likely b at Texas States! Even some OK people will come down so there are those points as well!

Come on over Shaw... we will be waiting!! :thumb:

If Florida and Georgia are the same day, I would expect a few people to go north instead. The Carolinas are also within driving distance, but other than people like me who would go for social stuff, I don't think anyone would really drive that far.

Your rating will only get worse if you come to FL...

The quality of play is much better in FL. If your looking to have a better shot at points(not saying it will be easy in TX) go to TX

  13. Do both? Florida is on the 1st of March. Texas and Georgia is on the 8th. Texas will have about 140 people combined with at least a top 8 cut. Not sure what Florida's numbers will look like. But they play Pokemon there like Tim Tebow plays QB. Your welcome here and if I'm not home I'll leave the key under the doormat. Just remember to feed the fish and no wild parties when you win. And don't go in the room in the Basement no matter what noise you here.

States is going to have a huge impact on ratings. FYI also: States is maximum Top 8 cut.

Your theories are flawed... The PTO that runs the CCs I go to, and the ones in Miami - Is the same person....

Squirtle, what he was saying was that for states that are close to other states that have events, one person from the state can do well at tournaments within the state and another can do well at tournaments within other states that border the state. This way, the two people never meet and thus never lower the score of the other. Expand this to states that have multiple bordering states with events and you could have many high ranked players that haven't played in the same event more than a few times.

Unless your PTO runs the CCs in Georgia, I think his point makes sense. Not all players live close enough to choose to play in a tournament in their state or in a tournament in a state close to them. So all the best players in their state have to butt heads, which leads to all the players losing points sooner or later.

On the other side of the issue, many players like the FL players travel good distances to play out of state. So it's not just them having the easy ride for other tournaments, they spend time and money to have that extra tournament to play in.

  19. But is it when two top players like Stephen and Bobby go head to head that they do not gain or lose too many points to each other?

Yeah exactly. What i'm trying to say is that Bobby and I don't run from each other. WORST case scenario is we take 4-5 points from each other.
