Second place at regionals?
I'm sure you don't get a Nationals Bye for a second place finish.
1st place REGIONALS gets a 2 round bye, 1 st place STATES gets a 1 round bye

WHOOPS! Sorry about that, I'm totally wrong.
Second place also gets 2 byes, thanks for the correction. To my knowledge, you don't really "claim" it, you just get it when you register. I have a 2 round by as well and I haven't been contacted regarding it at all. I'm sure it's something they'll handle once you register at Nationals. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Last year, they had a special registration line for State/Regional winners. (It was way shorter!) You fill out your registration card (Player ID, name, birthday) and they confirm you on their list of Byes. Then you just have to check the roster to be sure that you have the right number of Byes next to your name. It was very easy and painless, but do not expect any contact prior to Nationals, I'm not aware that they do that except for travel awards and travel vouchers.
