(Note: Not all about Pokemon)
So, this was my first Nationals, and honestly, i loved it. It was a great experience, and i think every player should at least try it once.
So, back at a CC's in December, our TO Christine, said that they were going to do another bus trip to Indy for Nats. So a couple of weeks later i paid it out, and i was just waiting.
A few weeks prior to the trip, i thought about not going, due to the format change, and me selling all of my good HS-on cards. (Not smart. -.-)
On Wednesday, i went out and spent my last few hours in Texas with my girlfriend, and then at around 8 PM i headed to the some Baha center and waited to load the bus. I had a huge suitcase, filled with a ton of stuff.
This was my longest bus trip ever, and i HATED it. At first, me and Catfish sat at the very front of the bus, but then we got moved to the VERY back. That sucked. The bus was pretty big, but the chairs were uncomfortable. By the way, some 'Gym members that were on the bus were: Porii Sames(the person i sat next to on the bus), rokman, jogon, MattPL, bladesblaze, poke-j, and the famous Martin Moreno. I don't really know him but i'd heard of him. All i know is he won Nats a while back. Cool.
At around 12, my phone died on me. That ruined the trip there, epicly. I couldn't text my girlfriend or anyone. I also didn't have my iPod, so i had to listen to the movies they played. It was bad. We stopped a couple times on the way there, but nothing was really important, except RESTRAUNT. All we knew was that it was called Restraunt. We kinda figured that it served.. food. But that's it. It amused everyone, and i found it hillarious. On the way there, Josh bought a Magnezone Prime, and a Yanmega Prime from Matt for $55, and i bought 2 Mew Primes for $30, so we did some pretty good deals. Matt also opened a box of TM on the bus. It was fun.
Then, we stopped at a Wal-Mart in Indiana somewhere, near the hotel. It was around 4-5, and we were missing the beginning of Pre-Reg. Not cool. Oh? And our bus driver got lost with Christine. Even worse. We eventually get back to the hotel, and it was okay, i guess. Not the greatest. We have very little time while there, as we all wanted to get to the Convention center really quickly. So, i changed into my Asking Alexandria outfit, and we all left. I almost got left though.. Not cool at all.
On our way there, we get stuck in some stupid downtown traffic. We end up getting there at around 6PM, and then we Pre-Reg. There was apparently another convention, at the center. And.. it was packed.
I go into Collector's Cache, and check it out. I ended up buying some sleeves, the Blue Arceus, 2 packs of the Victini, and 2 packs of the Electric Pokemon. That was cool. The people there were pretty nice too.
Definitely a great vendor for Nats. Can't wait to see them next year, even though their buying prices were pretty bad compared to T&T. While talking about Troll and Toad, the smart thing to do is, buy from Collectors Cache if you can, and sell stuff to T&T. T&T buys for better prices. $25 for my Magnezone Primes rather then $20 at CC.
(If you haven't noticed yet, this is probably very long. xD)
I go meet up with Megan and Sean in the free play room and play a couple games with my deck. My deck is MegaZone, which i found very consistent and a great play for Nats. (It won Masters, obviously.) I go 4-0 against MagneBoar and felt pretty good about myself. Then some kid from or bus reminds me that it was time to leave. So i head to the bus and we all wait for Josh and Sean to come back, and it takes a while. Then, we headed back to the hotel.
Now, i don't have a very good memory, but it's okay i guess. So, when we get back to the hotel i shower, and so does everyone else. (But me first, since i had the longest hair. ;P) Then everyone starts playtesting. I go against Matt who is playing DonChamp and easily sweep him with Yanmega early game. Giving me another 3-0 with my deck. Beast. I also help this Junior with his DonMega, and make changes to it. (He ended up top cutting, if you care) Then me, Milan, Sean, Josh, Matt, and Simon all decided to walk to Waffle House. The waiter lady asked us what we were there for, and we said a Math Competition. xD We messed with her mind, with our Algebraic equations. xD It was pretty fun. Then we go back, and playtest more. I end up meeting Kevin, (pokemonrocks777 on here) and we play a couple games. He's playing BlastGatr with Wailord, and i pretty much just sweep him, coming back from a terribad start. (I stalled with Magnemite for a few turns..) That just added another 4-0 to my record. Then i beat Josh's MagneBoar a couple times adding a couple more. God, i loved this deck. (Even though i trashed it after Nats.) My Zekrom, Pachi, Shaymin tech really helped some Match-Ups out.
So, after getting maybe.. 2 hours of sleep, we get ready for Nats. I go downstairs and fill out my list, and then we leave. When i get there, i look at the Rosters and realize Shaye is there, but i couldn't find her. I pretty much just went and watched Sean fail in the free play room.
Then, they had the players meeting, and after a while, it started.
Time for the actual report. xD
R1 vs. Bye.
He was pretty mean. Luckily, i donked him with Casper.
I went and chilled with Milan, Thomas, and Josh as we all had byes. Nice.
R2 vs. States Winner kid with Donphan/Dragons.
Oh god. A bad match up? Sadly. I get set-up pretty fast and worry him, but i knew i couldn't win against a swarm of Donphans. I got some nice reversal flips, but thats about it. I ended with around 2 prizes left.

R3 vs. Meany Face from some state.
He was playing Magmortar mill, and it was pretty cool. He gets out really fast Ninetails, but fails to do much. He also used a Pichu T1 so i got set-up. I end up killing it with Tyrogue. It was a fast match. I just snipe his Magmars and reveral them all game. I had 14 cards left at the end of the game.

R4 vs. Autowin.dec
He's playing some water deck focusing on Samurott, Delibird, and 'Gatr. I run through him pretty quickly. Nicee.
3-1 (3-1 sounds nice too me.)
R5 vs. Donphan/ Dragons.
Pokemon Gods? Are you there? No. They hate me apparently. This kid runs through me pretty quickly. Not nice.

That ended day 1, and i wasn't feeling very confident. Luckily, Sean was 5-0 with MagneBoar, and that made up for it.
That night, we stayed up pretty much all night, as we were all caught up in the game. And worried. Really worried. I do some more playtesting, but not as much. I just watch other peoples games for fun.
The next day, we started pretty early, and i didn't mind it.
R6 vs. MagneBoar
Oh yeah. I sweep this kid later in 8 Man tournaments.
He T3's my Magnemite, and i couldn't do anything about it. I drew into nothing.
3-3
So, at this point i think about dropping, but i don't.
R7 vs. Umbreon/Zoroark? I forget.
So i know to get a quick Zekrom and i win. So what do i do? Pull off a fast Zekrom. I dropped a Rescue on it so when it died, i just used it again. It was over pretty quickly. He was nice.
4-3
So, i drop. I was so tired. I didn't even care anymore, so i just stopped.
After that, i just watch games. I also got to meet up with Eli. M(who i knew from Pokebeach), and my hero, Adam Capriola. (Gotta love him)

So, after i drop i go and play in 8 Men tourneys, winning about 3, and getting bad packs. I also went to T&T and sold a bunch of old Rares and bulk getting like $30, which isn't that bad. Then i ripped them off, buying RH Yanma TM for $1. Beastly. I also go and buy retro holo Energies for my deck. (Kingdra/Mega at this time)
Then, Josh, Porii Sames, and I all go to the mall and chill at Johnny Rockets. The waiter was really nice, and they had good food. A pretty nice place in a huge mall.
I also gave a homeless man my food, and i think $9, which made me feel good about myself. (I found $10 later, so i know someone loves me. PokeGods. <_<)
On the last day of Nats, Sunday, i decided to skip it. I was so tired, and didn't care. I slept until about 4 PM, and just had fun the rest of that night.
But, the best part of my trip was that night..
My cousin Sean, who made T64 decided to stay at the hotel, and Curtis and Dady(no, not my dad, just some weird guy in our room) were asleep. Me, Josh, and Matt went out to Denny's at this time. (Around 12? i think so.) While at Dennys, we order our food, and then Sean calls me. He sounds like hes been crying for a while, and then he explains that he is under our bed. I instantly burst out laughing, looking mentally retarted at Dennys. And then i have him explain why, and it was to get a RH Psyduck from TM that Josh threw under the bed. So, he was stuck under the bed because of a RH Psyduck. We all died of laughter, and ate our food, but it was hard because we were laughing. We took our time while doing eating, and then Sean called my girlfriend, and she was laughing too. It was pretty hard to believe he was stuck under the bed, until he was actually crying over the phone. This entire time, Curtis or Dady didn't hear him screaming, which was funny.
So, we leave Dennys and head back to the hotel. We thought about what we would say if a cop pulled us over, and came up with-
"Well officer, our fat friend is stuck under the bed in our hotel."
"How did he get stuck under the bed?"
"He was trying to get a Pokemon card.." xD
But sadly, we didn't get pulled over.
Josh, who was a genious decided to go down into the creek type thing and get a stick. Me and Matt complemented him on his wood as we walked back to the hotel. Our plan was too:
Record it.
Poke him with a stick.
Never let him live it down.
We did exactly that.
But, when we went up to the room, our key didn't work. xD So we had to go down and get another card, and Sean was still under the bed..
So, when we get there, me and Josh started recording it, and we all died of laughter. After a few minutes, Matt helped him out from under the bed, and he was blood red. Poor kid. I bet he hates beds now.
I didn't get any sleep that night, and Porii Sames actually got left at the convention center, which was pretty funny. So the next morning, i get ready and wake our room up at around 5:10. We then left at around 5:45, and headed back to Texas.
Once again, i sat at the very back of the bus. Not smart, at all. I hated the entire trip back, even though i actually got to sleep. Josh and Sean pestered Porii Sames the entire way back, which was pretty funny.
We arrived back in Texas at around 12 AM Tuesday, which was basically Midnight on Monday. It was a very, very, long trip..
But overall, it was worth it, and a ton of fun.
