Hello Everyone!
A lot of you have been asking me do run a Mutant Draft at the Shack before going to LaGrange's PreRelease Tournament. I would like to gather some information and let me see what all of you are thinking for the Mutant Draft.
I'm thinking Saturday November 15 for the draft. I could do it this Saturday, November 8, if I get the product in time and I HEAR back from enough (8 players) people.
The following format rules will be used at Farbmans's tournament in LaGrange and the ones we will also play with at the Shack if we decide to do the Mutant Draft.
Evolutions
In this format, the way Pokemon evolve changes. Pokemon can evolve into other Pokemon of the SAME TYPE or its normal evolution. Pokemon still evolve from Basic --> Stage 1 --> Stage 2.
Examples of Evolving:
Normal:
Torchick evolves into Comusken, then Combusken evolves into Blaziken.
Eevee can evolve into Flareon, Espeon, Jolteon, Umbreon and Vaporeon.
Onix can evolve into Steelix.
Etc...
Mutant:

Just make sure everyone realizes that the side events I am running with Mutant are not draft tournaments I just don't have the money to get packs for that type of tournament.
The formats I will be doing with Mutant are:
Modified (current modified)
Old Modified (neo-on with Nintendo cards with sneasel, slowking, and promos 1-20 banned)
Unlimited (use any cards but ____'s Pikachu and Antient Mew)
Team Modified (current Modified)
These will all require you bring your own 60-card deck to play in
I do have some Legendary Collection Boosters in my possession and planned to run a Legendary limited sealed tournament, but if enough are interested we could change it to a mutant tournament with Legendary

In the finals Dan and I were both able to get our multiple Blazekin out. However, Dan was in not getting draw cards, and I wasn’t getting energy. After, 8 turns Dan got his Delcatty in place on the bench for his draw power with Magneton and Blazekins getting that energy out of his discard pile. I finally started drawing energy and began using it with my Delcatty and putting the fire energy onto my bench with Blazekins. Neither Dan or I were using our Blazekins to to attack. He used Magneton and I used Espeon. What made the difference was Espeon. I used its attack of 20+ (+ 10 damage for every energy attached to all your opponent’s Pokemon.) to K.O. several Pokemon in a row. Dan was able to K. O. my Espeon but I quickly got another one up and running while Dan’s bench was still loaded with energy. The game could of went either way! I was just fortunate.
P.S.
Dan had a secret weapon (Pokemon) to do a lot of heavy damage against my Pokemon. I want to keep it a secret for Dan and Eric. ; - ) because it was a great Pokemon to combo into the deck! I will let them choose to reveal their secret! Great idea Eric and Dan!

The results from this week have been entered into POP's website.
I'll register the next few weeks ASAP.
If you read this and want to kill your day we are playing our league here in Tecumseh Today (sunday the 21st)1-3 (deck check at 12:45) if 8 show up it will be an official tournament. Unlimited and lots of newbies 8 players here will be tough to get the holiday weekend.

If you read this and want to kill your day we are playing our league here in Tecumseh Today (sunday the 21st)1-3 (deck check at 12:45) if 8 show up it will be an official tournament. Unlimited and lots of newbies

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I will have to post the results later in the day. Currently, I don't have the time. I appreciate everyone for attending yesterday!
I know some people expressed interest in doing something special for next Saturday. Ideas suggested were to bring in pot luck food items and do a side event along with our main modified event.
One side event idea was to do a Theme Deck Challenge. I like the idea but would like to use theme decks that fit the current Modified Structure (ie. Expedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge, R/S, Sandstorm, Dragons) I have 13 theme decks that fit this format. However, I don't know if this is enough! If anybody has any unopened theme decks that they would like to part with, I will do everything in my ability to give you a fair price for it. I will also look while shopping today and check out a website that sells theme decks to see if we can receive them before next Saturday!

Saturday December 21, 2003 Tournament Results
We had 16 players and some others just come to play for fun! We played 6 rounds of Swiss then cut to the top 8! Oh! B.T.W. I want to thank everyone for the Christmas card and the gift card to use at the movies! THANK YOU EVERYONE and Mrs. R too!
