You can still play 2 Pluspower and 1 Strength Charm on one Pokemon. One Strength Charm is better because u can attach it to a Pokemon, not attack with that Pokemon, and the Strength Charm still stays attached. Therefore u can drop it before a Claydol to net more cards, or Stevens to get down to 6 in hand.

That makes sense. It is easy to attach, and then rotate Beedrill back to the bench until you need the extra damage.

Anyone have suggestions for stadiums that are good with this deck. Crystal beach helps against DRE. I don't see much advantage for Dawn Stadium or Lake Boundundary.

I think this deck works best in a defined metagame that's almost strictly GG, Banette, Empoleon/Omastar, Garchomp and Fire Truk. It doesn't like dealing with rogue decks packing Cess Crystal or blazing fast starts against it (Skittles, for example). I'm really curious to see how this deck will do at Nats before I make any decisions about playing it at the grinder...it's currently my #1 choice.

By no stretch of the imagination is this an extremely easy deck to play, and I think that's why people haven't been winning BRs with it in the numbers it should have been. The deck is the perfect machine, you just have to know how to use it.

I'd really like to try to find another tech and maybe switch up some of the trainers a little bit. Dusknoir has been underperforming lately due to lack of Fire Truk and Skittles. I honestly can't think of anything too great though. Electrode is the only thing that's sticking out to me, but the Empoleon matchup seems pretty even. Any stage 1 or 2 water types that can 1 hit Mag X for cheap seem pretty good, but I can't think of any.

Ya that seems like it might be kinda slow in doing damage and Magikarp start seems pretty bad...good thinking though.

I'll look through the gallery again I guess...

I built my first version of this deck last night. Ball engine with Claydol and Chatot (Shuckle thrown in). Used only Island Hermits to help search out the prized Beedrills and annoy the GG players with them having top flip if the Telepass. Cess Crystal and Beach work great. Had very few problems with using the CC with the free retreat and two Warp Point.

I did not have plus powers though and always felt that I needed them against GG and Chomp. As much as I love Dusknoir in my Empoleon decks I don't think it is needed here as much. And everyone is ready for Noir now . I think the tech play is Amphros. The deck seems to set up completely by turn 3-4 so you should spread at least 2-4 damage across the board and then force them to quit using Supporters which will mess them up. This gives you the extra damage counter that you need to OHKO all of the 130HP Pokes out there. Often you are doing 90 damage for three Beedrills so the spread really helps there as well. Using a combination of Grass and Multi energys let you attack with Amphros as well since it only needs the one Lightning (which can be discarded to do more damage across the board if needed). Multis also let you attack with Claydol. Seems like the play to me.

I Came Second In A Metagame of Magmortars And That Was A Local Tournamen Soley Becuase Of A Few Reasons

I Played Phione And Call,

I Played Dugtrio CG

I Played It 12 Grass Energy

Dusk Ball, Drop 2 Great for 2 Dusk

They Cant Attack You rBench With Trio

I like the idea of island hermit in this deck solely to get the beedrills out of the prizes, or important cards.. It doesn't hurt gg as much as u think at all though.. They'll probably just end up copying your Stevens or Bebe's/celios

But if you play a Ball Engine and only Island Hermit they really have nothing to copy. And well timed Cess Crystals and they are shut down. Island Hermit finds what you might need and helps against the biggest deck in format.

I like the Ampharos idea but it just seems kinda slow. The advantage to Dusknoir is that comes out of nowhere to give you amazing board position, but Ampharos has to be there pretty early to make a difference.

Dugtrio looks like a good idea.

Island Hermit only works with a ball engine, otherwise, GG will not suffer.

I used Dugtrio CG in my Mortar deck, people called me nuts, it worked though:)
Dugtrio is amazing.

I like SpeedDrill. It has won 2 BRs in the senior division in NJ. However, whne Shedinja comes out, I do not think this deck will be as good. Just for it's Poke-Power:

Shedinja LV.34 – Grass – HP60
Stage 1 – Evolves from Nincada

Poke-Power: Spite
You can use this Power once during your opponent's turn, when this Pokemon's HP is reduced to 0 by an attack. Place 4 damage counters on the attacking Pokemon and on each of your opponent's Pokemon that has the same name as the attacking Pokemon.

[C] Confusing Curse: Place 3 damage counters on the Defending Pokemon. If Shedinja has any damage counters on it, the Defending Pokemon is now Confused.

Weakness: none
Resistance: none
Retreat: 0

So maybe play a 1-0-1 Alakazam?

no, then u have to discard which u dont want because a lot of cards in beedrill is precious. like it but 3 multis and 7 grass.

Suppose maybe use 1 TSD and 1 Night Maintenance?

atleast 2 night mant.

Why even run TSD?
your going to go for a flip, when you dont need it. Night Mant. is usually only used late gme TBH, then with the recycling of ur deck and such, the deck thinning cards, u can EASILY top deck the cards you need.

I agree, 3 NM does the trick for me, TSD is not needed.

What I don't like in this deck is prized Beedrills.
