[:grass:] Shadow Images - Whenever Rocket's Scyther is attacked, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, that attack does no damage to Rocket's Scyther. (Any other effects of the attack still happen.) This effect lasts until Rocket's Scyther takes damage (or is Benched or is evolved).

I just want to clarify even if the opponent flips tails on his pokemon's attack, let's say that attack deals damage to benched pokemon like quagsire's [:water::colorless:colorless:] Muddy Water (60) Does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's benched Pokemon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.), is the attack able to do damage to the benched pokemon even if u get tails? But how about something like prinplup's [:water:] Aqua Shower - Does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.), this doesn't necessarily say which pokemon is attacked but is this considered to be attacking scyther? How about if its not 10 damage instead the attack says 1 damage counter like Celebi Ex's [:grass:] Spiral Leaf - Flip a coin. If heads, put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokemon. If tails, remove 1 damage counter from each of your Pokemon.

And just to clarify things, the effect, is it on rocket's scyther or the attacking pokemon?

The only damage that might be prevented is that done to Rocket's Scyther.
It doesn' t affect at all damage done to any Benched Pokemon.
That still happens, regardless of the result of the coin flip.

Placing damage counters is not the same thing as doing damage.
Spiral Leaf is not affected at all by Shadow Images. A damage counter would be placed on Rocket's Scyther.
The coin still has to be flipped, but the placement of the damage counter would not be stopped by a tails for Shadow Images.

The effect resides on Rocket's Scyther. That is the only Pokemon that is named in the attack text, so that is where the effect is placed
