Ya, see you soon! We want to make this a great event for everyone!

For those of you who didn't know, one of our regular players at TIY, our PokeDad, Rich W passed away suddenly this past weekend, so this one will be in honor of Rich... may he rest in peace. I'm sure he'll be watching over us and wishing he could be playing with us. I hope they play Pokemon in Heaven, cuz I'm sure he made the Top Cut! He was a great guy... We'll all miss him and will all play our best to honor him. I'll have a card and a donation fund available for anyone who would want to sign or donate to his son Jeremiah and wife Tyra. I'm sure this will be a really rough holiday for them. I know many of you have played against Rich in the Masters or Jeremiah in the Juniors and might want to be able to do a little something to help.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rich's family. I've played Rich many times and Benjamin's best pal at the tournaments and league is Jeremiah.
 
You mentioned a plaque for Rich. Is there any way I can donate my one Flygon ex Delta for that? He practically gave that card to me, and idk, I just feel wrong using that card now...
 
Thanks everyone for the nice wishes to them. I believe they've seen these threads and have appreciated the thoughtful comments. That's one thing for sure about the Pokemon community, we're all a tight bunch, a great extended family of sorts. And that's always evident in the Midwest for sure!

Well I'm looking forward to another great gathering of area Pokemon friends for our City Championships! Be sure to bring all your friends along too everyone! Always great when the event is free! First stop, Cities, then we'll all have a better idea of what works and what doesn't as we progress towards our next big event - States! Get fine tuning those decks! It's sneaking up on us pretty quick here!
 
That's great! Anyone else coming with you from up north? Now let's just hope for some good weather! *fingers crossed* I really hope we'll be blessed with some cooperative weather. I hoped that having ours in mid December would be better than our previous ones in the first week of Jan. At any rate, we'll have a great time there. Really looking forward to seeing everyone. Should be some great competition!

Who else is planning on coming? Trying to figure how many cookies to make :biggrin:

Well I always make my homemade cookies for ma players! :wink: Everyone seems to think they're pretty good... at least there's never a cookie left! :tongue: Probably cuz I make them with love! :thumb: Anyway, I figure it's the least I can do for everyone who travels from all over the place to come to our Tourneys. My way to show I appreciate everyone :biggrin:
 
Glad to hear you'll be there! Wouldn't be the same without you! I added some Side Event info to page one... in case anyone wants to have some fun after the main event.
