Does anyone know the official rules for this? For example, I'm an American that wants to go visit my friend that happens to live 10 minutes away from Canadian nationals. Would I be able to play in that tournament? For some reason I remember the rule being I can compete, just not win any of the travel award/invitations if I'm not a citizen.

You must be a citizen of the country to play in their Nationals. Dual citizens can only play 1 National Championship.

Citizenship is not a requirement. Residence is.

So I can't go and visit and play in the tournament.

I was fairly sure citizenship mattered, but whatever.

Either way, unless you live in Canada, you cannot.
