All right lets get to the ropes. Is this the anti-meta card? 160 HP is already a good amount, even in this meta. Then, resistance to fighting and fire?! The too most played types via Fire TRUK and G&G. It's attack isn't half bad either, and water is a decent type atm. And, if the Tangrowth erratta goes through, we got a fire beat-stick as well. Its one flaw is colorless weakness, which is overcomes in two ways. Holon Legacy, or, if you want to use Blastoise SW to power it up, a tech Blastoise d. You can use Flygon d to power it up, and then tech in Flygon ex d (which is great in this meta too, btw), or run Blastoise SW with Holon Circle and Crystal Beach. Crystal Beach is even more anti-meta. This card often is worth the 2-prize trade off, seeing as it stays there for ages. Is this the anti-GG card? Yes, I think it is. You can even use Unown G vs. Sonic Blade, and Poygon2/Furret to set up. Good? I think so. What about you?!

    2 stage 2's? yikes... :/

    4-2-4 Sally d EX DF
    2-1-2-1 (2 Fly d HP, 1 Fly d EX DF)
    4 Holons Castform
    2 Unown G

Would that work? But basically the whole deck runs on 2 Stage 2's! yikes...

More like 2-1-2 Sally ex d. When do you need 4 in a game? Then 4-2 Furret and 1-1 or 2-2 Porygon2. It works amazing.

I've tried to do things with this card AND IT'S NEVER WORKED BEFORE! >.<. Maybe now is the time to try it. It does look like a tank and Water is good along with the fact that it shifts to Fire. I would say go for it

Random Theory why it wasn't really looked at last year: Neither fighting nor fire were particularly big until late last season. It does same max damage as Flygon EX DF, but with nothing weak to it, what's the point of using the extra energy? Damage spread? Pah, just use Flygon who's easier to set up and has more room for techs. Of course, this year though, we now have things that it's resistant to, and we now have things weak to it. Funny how much difference types can make, huh?

Tad saddening that it doesn't have a particularly great answer to Blissey ('cause it has the Colorless weakness, but can't really combo with fighting types, unlike say Flygon PK).

Still, the ability to spread damage like a nut, abuse weakness on Magmortar, and has an alternative version that can snipe anywhere for 100 damage (which also happens to be resistant to Gallade)? Sounds like fun, if we can find a good energy accelerator (you need one to make up for the 4 energy cost)...

Speaking of which... There doesn't seem to be one. :/ Flygon's a bad option 'cause to get the most out of that evolution line, you're playing another type of energy (Fighting), which clashes with the Water you definately will play and any possible fire energies (...For Salamence SW? You never really would use the Discard Fire Energies option, but whatever), not to mention it can't attach to the good Shelgon (SW) or to the Salamence SW tech.
Wait, what's this? Something in GE that CAN attach to them whenever it's played from hand? But... That's a stage 2... And it's ALSO vulnerable to Battle Frontier... And is amazingly luck dependent, and with crappy stage 1s too...

Bleh, isn't there ANYTHING good to go with Salamence? Seems like all his friends are stage 2s :/

Why on earth is everyone talking about Salamence ex d? The pk one is the one you would want to use now.

It OHKO's almost every legal card, and has the same weakness, retreat, resistance and hp of the df one. If you would stand a chance with Salamence ex you would only want the DF one as a tech.

Dont forget Glacia's Stadium it gets rid of the water pokemons weakness.

because the cost for what it does is too much. The 30 to the bench is what you would go for.

You don't ever read the posts, the DF one is Water with resistance to Fire and an attack that can OHKO Magmortar, but not as high cost as the PK one.

    lol, just worry about hurricane!!!

Yes, this card is a BEAST, and Chriscobi has the right idea with this card. This is one of the cards that DOES beat Magmortar and G/G, it just loses to a lot of other non important decks. I can see Salamence EX δ getting a top2 at states.

The attack isn't that bad if used with Blastiose or Altaria ex.

Yes the DF one can ohko Magmortar, but the PK one can ohko Magmortar, Gallade, Blissy, Feraligatr and Empoleon. Thats the main cards that will see play at states, and the DF Sallamence ex can only ohko Magmortar.

If you must use the DF Salamence then at least include the PK one as a tech to ohko a big attacker.
