Sandstorm is announced on the Belgian distributor's website. Release date : end of september.

Seems that the delay between releases in USA and Belgium is shorter than ever ... if the cards are in the shops by the end of the month like it's announced.

Unfortunately, no word about a Prerelease. That is probably linked to the fact that OP is not yet operational in Europe. Maybe for the next set ;)

Second Nintendo's Pokemon set and third Euroepan YGO set end september ? Go to my bank for a loan

That's great news; hope it 'pans out' as we say in the American West. What was the usual delay with WOTC, if any?

The first event here, Challenge, was stinky in attendance and number of sites. The second, Sandstorm PR, was better in number of sites and attendance. Hopefully you folks will go from 0 to something (stinky or better) for the next release and get a pre-release. *crosses fingers*

Similar to the delays with Ruby and Saphire.. Pick any number form one month to four.

Note we are still being told 'Next week' this is a secret code used by distributors which means that they don't know and are still making sacrifices to the gods in the hope that it might be 'next week'.

R&S missed three announced 'guaranteed' release dates before finaly making it to the distributors in the UK.

4 weeks is typical.

We usually had the sets 1 or 2 months after the US release, but the translated sets were released really later (BTW, is translating sets a good commercial operation ?).

We've had a big problem with the Expedition set that Nintendo didn't want to see released in Europe. Everything has been ok about 3 months after the US release.

This time it seems that we'll have the cards 2 weeks after the USA, and it's a good point.
I'm still dreaming of a Worldwide release date and Worldwide Prerelease tournaments :) I feel it for a near future !

Grey import ? If the delays are shorter, people will be less interested in grey import. But the other element is still present : a Sandstorm box costs 85 USD, UPS shipping to Europe included, delivery at home in 3 days, if you order it in the USA.
The same box will cost between 120 and 150 Euro (135 to 165 USD) if you buy it in the local shop, and you have to go to visit your shop ...

How will cost, in a local shop in the US, a Sandstorm box that you find on the web at 70 USD + shipping ? I think we have the same situation in the US, but as it is on the same market, there is no talk of grey import :)

NoPoke, I'm afraid that the communication provided by the distributor is quite bad. Finally, instead of saying 'Next week' what probably means 'We don't know but we tell you something', it would be better to say 'We don't say anything until we're 100 % sure'.
Already heard that ? But where ???

I think the distributors get conflicting information as to release date and availability too... I wouldn't mind betting that they get told 'Soon' and 'next week' when they enquire about availabilty too :(

The cost issue is a big problem. It is cheaper to buy a case in the USA and pay the airfreight than to buy from a UK distributor. But the real problem is the delay and uncertainty in availability outside the USA.
