Shiny Mewtwo on Fire Red

If you saved right before you start the battle with Mewtwo, and you don't get a shiny one, and you restart, would there be a chance of it being shiny? Because I know the nature changes every time, but what about the possibility of the Pokemon being off-colour?

I've been trying this for a week but haven't had any luck yet. Am I wasting my time on doing this?

There is a chance it will be shiny if you do that.

However, you probably are wasting your time since the chances of encountering a shiney Mewtwo are less than 1:8000

Okay, as long as there's a chance, I'm gonna keep at it, even if I do just end up wasting time.

wow, i thought training apt's smeagle for the jaa was a waste of time. then i see this . . . no. just capture it and ev train. it isn't worth getting a shiney if you waste a week going 24/7 get shiney mewtwo. :/

What does IV stand for? I've seen them mentioned a few times, but have no idea.
