Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

So, I just joined a Pokemon Club League. . . (Need help with my drafted team)

Hmm...I'd recommend you divide your Pokemon into something like this:

Bronzong, PorygonZ, Dragonite, Driftblim

Starmie, Tangrowth, Ramparados, Infernape

That leaves Azumarril and Probopass as your reserves (who both, imo, are not that great considering that more than likely they'll be up against other OUs). For movesets and EVs, I'd recommend checking "Koffing" as they have the common movesets there and EV spreads as well.
But "Koffing" has been down for a while now. :\ All that's up is the forums. Additionally, keep in mind that everyone ended up with some non-OU's on their team. Plenty of people picked non-OU's before the OU's were exhausted.

Reading through that, and realizing I don't know too much about competive play, I have come up with some questions on terminology and such.

What is a "Hazer"?
What good is Rapid Spin if it does so little damage?
How are Grass Knot and Gyro Balls damage calculated? (please don't say it depends on weight/speed because I know that much)
Azumarril's Huge Power: does it double the base power or Azumarril's ATK stat?

What is a "Hazer"?

A pokemon that gets rid of your opponent's increased stats. Dragon dance, swords dance, ect.

What good is Rapid Spin if it does so little damage?

Gets rid of stealth rock, spikes, and toxic spikes. Spikes and stealth rock are very common among competitive teams so its useful to rid yourself of this annoyance.

How are Grass Knot and Gyro Balls damage calculated? (please don't say it depends on weight/speed because I know that much)

Gyro Ball's base power is given by the formula min(150, 1+(25 * Foe's Speed / User's Speed)). This formula uses actual Speed, not base Speed.

The base power of Grass Knot is determined by the target's weight, as follows:

Below 10 kg = 20 power
10.1 kg - 25 kg = 40 power
25.1 kg - 50 kg = 60 power
50.1 kg - 100 kg = 80 power
100.1 kg - 200 kg = 100 power
200.1 kg and up = 120 power

Azumarril's Huge Power: does it double the base power or Azumarril's ATK stat?

Azumarril's attack.

There you go.

Well, after breeding ~150 Porygons ALL DAY. I managed to finally get a Modest Mischievious one with Trace (I got one with Download earlier). Unfortunately, the speed seems to be mediocre-terrible, but I really don't care anymore. I really hope you have to have Trace to get Adaptability, otherwise, I'll feel like I wasted the last hour or two.

Porygon Z @ Salac Berry/Life Orb

Nasty Plot
Tri Attack
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

OR

Porygon Z @ Choice Scarf

Tri Attack
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Dark Pulse

Either of those sets work best for Porygon Z, GL with the league, it sounds really fun.

I'd personally go with Thunderbolt, as only Magnezone resists that combination of attacks, and neither have very good Sp. Defense if any.

Alright.

Here's what I've got so far (idea-wise, still breeding things for the nature I want =( )

PorygonZ (Modest/Adaptability)
-Nasty Plot
-Tri-Attack
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt

Rampardos (Adamant)
-Head Smash/Stone Edge/Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Pursuit
-Brick Break/Avalanche/Zen Headbutt

Probopass (???/Magnet Pull)
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder
-Explosion/Earth Power?

Drifblim (Calm/Aftermath)
-Substitute
-Baton Pass
-Hypnosis/Will-o-Wisp
-Shadow Ball/Ominous Wind

Tangrowth (Impish)
-Power Whip
-Earthquake
-Sleep Powder
-Reflect
or
(Bold/Chlorophyll)
-Energy Ball/Grass Knot/Solar Beam
-Sleep Powder
-Focus Blast/Sludge Bomb/Shock Wave
-Sludge Bomb/Shock Wave/Sunny Day

Bronzong (Brave/Levitate)
-Trick Room
-Gyro Ball
-Earthquake
-Hypnosis

Azumarill (Adamant/Huge Power)
-Waterfall/Aqua Tail
-Super Power/Giga Impact/Focus Punch (not sure if I'd be able to predict when they won't throw an attack though)
-Brick Break/Double Edge (depending on the last choice)
-Aqua Jet

Infernape
-I'm really not sure what to do with this one. I don't know if I should go physical or special.

Starmie (Timid/Natural Cure)
-Recover
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam/Psychic/Grass Knot/Rapid Spin

Dragonite (Jolly)
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Earth Quake
-Fire Punch

Any and all help is appreciated. Especially with helping me choose between attacks.

Additionally, there are a few Pokemon not in my Pokedex that I need. Anyone who can trade them to me I would be very appreciative. I have lots of Porygon, Drifloon, and Nosepass. :)

I need:
Tangela (preferably the nature above with decent-perfect IVs and legit)
Staryu (same)
Dratini (same; I actually have this on my Pokedex, but I've never been quite sure of where to catch them)
Dittos (any nature I need. I only have the Modest Ditto)

PorygonZ (Modest/Adaptability)
-Nasty Plot
-Tri-Attack
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt

Looks good.

Rampardos (Adamant)
-Head Smash/Stone Edge/Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Pursuit
-Brick Break/Avalanche/Zen Headbutt

I dunno too much about Ramparados personally, but I don't think you really need Pursuit. Go with Head Smash or Crunch, Stone Edge, EQ, and Brick Break or Focus Punch as the last move. Or if you feel risky, try Swords Dance or Rock Polish in the last slot.

Probopass (???/Magnet Pull)
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder
-Explosion/Earth Power?

Probopass is way too slow to pull off a Taunt imo. Go with Quiet or Modest, Earth Power > Taunt, and Explosion as the last move.

Drifblim (Calm/Aftermath)
-Substitute
-Baton Pass
-Hypnosis/Will-o-Wisp
-Shadow Ball/Ominous Wind

Hypnosis > WoW, unless you have another Pokemon with a sleep-inducing move. Shadow Ball > Omnious Wind.

Tangrowth (Impish)
-Power Whip
-Earthquake
-Sleep Powder
-Reflect
or
(Bold/Chlorophyll)
-Energy Ball/Grass Knot/Solar Beam
-Sleep Powder
-Focus Blast/Sludge Bomb/Shock Wave
-Sludge Bomb/Shock Wave/Sunny Day

For the first one, Leech Seed > Reflect if you can get it, otherwise put in Light Screen > Reflect as Tangrowth has high enough Def. For the second one if you use it, if you go with Sunny Day, use it, Solar Beam, Sleep Powder, and Sludge Bomb unless you can get HP Fire.

Bronzong (Brave/Levitate)
-Trick Room
-Gyro Ball
-Earthquake
-Hypnosis

Sassy or Relaxed is a better nature, moveset looks fine. Remember to get the 0 IV for Speed so you can maximize Gyro Ball's damage.

Azumarill (Adamant/Huge Power)
-Waterfall/Aqua Tail
-Super Power/Giga Impact/Focus Punch (not sure if I'd be able to predict when they won't throw an attack though)
-Brick Break/Double Edge (depending on the last choice)
-Aqua Jet

Waterfall > Aqua Tail, and you can always try setting up a Substitute to use Focus Punch.

Infernape
-I'm really not sure what to do with this one. I don't know if I should go physical or special.

You can always have the best of both worlds with Mixed Infernape, with Naive as the Nature, and moves: Close Combat, Nasty Plot, Flamethrower, and Grass Knot.

Starmie (Timid/Natural Cure)
-Recover
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam/Psychic/Grass Knot/Rapid Spin

Looks good, last move really depends on what you expect, though I don't think you'll see very many Pokemon with Spikes or Stealth Rock personally.

Dragonite (Jolly)
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Earth Quake
-Fire Punch

Maybe Dragon Claw > Outrage since you're using Dragon Dance, and maybe Adamant > Jolly. Looks good otherwise.

I'm not quite that brave. Rampardos seems too fragile. If I go with Focus Punch (which I thought about after I posted) then I definately wouldn't need Pursuit since Focus Punch probably is the better move if I know when they're switching. I'm already done breeding my Cranidos and moved onto others, so Crunch is out of the question. Do I really need two rock type moves on Rampardos?

Probopass is way too slow to pull off a Taunt imo. Go with Quiet or Modest, Earth Power > Taunt, and Explosion as the last move.
Alright.

Hypnosis > WoW, unless you have another Pokemon with a sleep-inducing move. Shadow Ball > Omnious Wind.
Since it was a Baton Passer I thought the potenial stat buff from Ominous Wind might help. I'll go with Shadow Ball.

Getting Leech Seed shouldn't be a problem. I tihnk I have it on a Cherrim, if not I can Heart Scale it. I may go with the Sunny Day one, however since the T-tar is in my half of the league. West side I believe.

Sassy or Relaxed is a better nature, moveset looks fine. Remember to get the 0 IV for Speed so you can maximize Gyro Ball's damage.
More DEF? I'm going to try for low Speed IVs. I only have another week to get these things ready, so I can't spend too much time breeding.

Waterfall > Aqua Tail, and you can always try setting up a Substitute to use Focus Punch.
I know Waterfall is more accurate, but since Minimize and Double Team are banned and Azumarril probably won't go first a lot I was considering the slightly less accurate Aqua Tail.

Maybe Dragon Claw > Outrage since you're using Dragon Dance, and maybe Adamant > Jolly. Looks good otherwise.
I thought the extra speed might be helpful.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Here's what I have for the EV's right now (Infernape is still undecided, though it'd probably be 252 in Speed, 252 in primary ATK, 6 in a DEF):

Azumarril
-HP:252
-ATK:252
-SPD:6

Drifblim
-HP:100
-SpDEF: 210
-SPD: 200

Dragonite
-ATK: 252
-DEF: 6
-SPD: 252

Bronzong
-HP:252
-ATK:200
SpDEF:58

PorygonZ
-DEF: 6
-SpATK: 252
-SPD: 252

Rampardos
ATK: 252
SpDEF: 6
SPD: 256

Tangrowth (I decided on the Bold Moveset with Sunny Day and Solar Beam)
-HP:252
-DEF:200
-SPD:56

Starmie
-SpATK: 252
-SpDEF: 6
-SPD: 252

Probopass
-HP: 252
-DEF:58
-SpATK: 200

Also my teams are as such as of right now:

Offense
-Dragonite
-Rampardos
-Drifblim
-PorygonZ

Defensive
-Bronzong
-Tangrowth
-Infernape
-Starmie

Subs
-Azumarill
-Probopass

I'll have to ask about the rules on subbing. Otherwise, I may put better Pokemon as the subs so they can be used between teams.

Bronzong ended up on the Defensive team because I figured most of the faster Pokemon will be on the opponent's Offensive team. Drifblim ended up on the Offensive team because I think the huge subs will annoy the Defensive teams more. It may also allow me to get away with Sub punching with Rampardos.
