hey everybody, i need a TI-83 calculator for next school year, and here they are 300+ bucks new, so if anyone has one and isn't using it anymore and is OBv going to Worlds, I'll buy it, cause i dunno where to buy em IN Orlando and probably won't even have time to go to malls or anything, so please any help is appreciated
 
i dont think they are 300+. i think they are like $100. im in hs and that's how much our ti-83 graphing calculators cost. also, i see em on ebay for like $40-60
 
yah i said 'her they are 300+ bucks' meaning here in Mexico they are 300+ bucks, that why i seek for help, the calculator can be new or used, as long as it works it doesn't really matter, new preferred though :)
 
heh, I have a TI-92 calculator that my dad gave to me. It helped me get through geometry, and I have a feeling that it will get me through Algebra 2, so i'm not selling it, even if you can use it.

On ebay however, TI-83s are around $50 American right now...

do u have to have the 83???

if ur gonna spend that much (~$100) i'd get the 89, trust me, u'll need it for any calc classes that u'll be taking
 
yah scott, my school wont accept any other calculator other then the TI-83 :(. if not id just be asking for any TI probably =P... so anyone can buy it or something for me and I'll just pay you at Worlds? like I said i dont mind it being new or used, i just need it to work and be TI-83.
 
83's are roughly $100 at retail pricein the US (they are coming out with an 84 in the fall)

89's do a lot more than 83s and are banned in many schools/tests.

I have a spare TI-83+ Silver Edition....$110 if you'd like it
 
Yes, brand new. (I haven't opened the box yet...so I'm assuming it is)

Only problem is that it doesn't come with the link cable, but I'm sure if you really needed it someone at school would share (kinda reminds me...I gotta find my one to my own calculator...)
 
soslow i got one offered for 80 bucks new, so im taking that one :) thanks for the help tho.

plaid: they prolly are better but theyre banned by the IB thingy im doing next year....
 
most likely the reason for the ban of post 83 calcs is because of the infra-red and the manipulations that can be done with an 89 or above.....

i can get TI-84s for $50 new, connections hehe. got a lot of used TI-83s, helped me through geometry and i dont remember how to use them any more. damn TI-89 Titanium.
