4-4 Accelgor
2-1-2 Gothitelle
2 Darkrai EX

4 Bianca
4 Professor Juniper
4 Random Receiver
4 Dark Patch
3 Level Ball
3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Ultra Ball
2 Dark Claw
2 Heavy Ball
2 Pokemon Communication
2 Rare Candy

8 Dark Energy
4 Double Colorless Energy

The strategy here is speed, and four each of Bianca, Juniper, and Random Receiver give you plenty of that. Dark Patch quickly sets up your Darkrai without hindering your Accelgor from attacking. When Accelgor tucks back into your deck, Gothitelle promotes and shuts down your opponent's Trainers. You don't get the extra damage Chandelure brings, but by eliminating a Stage2 and adding another primary attacker (that gives free retreat to your field) you have the ability to thin your deck down to 15 or fewer cards in just 4 turns. That makes swarming the Accelgors so much easier!

Do you think maybe Mew EX would be a good addition? That way, you could thin the accelgor line, and only need to pull 2 cards out of your deck as opposed to 3 to keep the lock going.

It could be, but it may make Darkrai all but an auto win. It does bare fooling around with though.

maybe some max potion to heal damage off of gothitelle after an accelgor ko?

You try not to KO with Accelgor. I prefer damaging an ex til 30 from dead, catcher another, same thing and then clean up with Darkrai to draw 4. If they get Goth then, meh, who cares. Game is for all practical purposes over anyhow.

I would add some energy switch in case you face Kyogre ex vs. active Gothitelle, Max Potion should work well. Is Rescue Scarf useful in this deck for Gothitelle (I have not read the card)?

I try to take breaks from the Pokegym once in a while. This is how I know when.

Yeah, I meant Kyurem ex's first attack, not Kyogre ex, but since it has to be a special energy card, it should not be a problem.

So really Energy Switch would be to put on Accelgor or Gothitelle and . Max Potion would be for Gothitelle and Darkrai ex, which might help a bit. Gothitelle could still get OHKOed by decks like Emboar and could get out of Special Conditions from evolving. That, or some solid 4-4 stage 1 deck with a lot of draw power.

Is Bianca the optimal draw? Could Cheren with Verizon (NVI) be more consistent?

I think Emboar with Accelgor would be neat too, since you could use Cilan to get the energy from your deck. Non-ability Emboar can OHKO anything after Accelgor's first attack.

Wait how does Heavy Ball work in this deck? I would try Victory Medal, since it's slightly better than Pokeball if it becomes legal.

Yeah- Kyurem shouldn't be an issue. If special Energy is attached to my active, it's because I'm attacking with Deck and Cover.

Energy is fairly tight and Max Potion could be a problem. Victory Medal is rotated. A Tool Scrapper or two would be nice.

Yes, imo, Bianca is optimal. With all the Trainers in the deck and how easy you can thin your hand, drawing 4 is my average and I've been playing this or a version of this for quite a while. Heavy Ball gets you Shelmets, but I think Communication will do the job better with all the discarding and the lack of Junk Arm.

I'm thinking of taking Chaos0's advice and working in Mews.

Mew is not needed in this deck but it helps it out completely. Its a lot easier to recover using a basic and a DCE than it is to do a Stage 1 and DCE while doing the same thing. It also allows you to run less Accelgors since you only need 1 for mew prime to work.

I played with this list at league today and found it very difficult to get an Accelgor, Gothitelle and Darkrai onto the field in anything resembling a timely fashion. Waynegg, or anyone else inclined to, could you run me through what an ideal first couple of turns should look like? I have a feeling this deck is counter-intuitive to how I usually play and I could use a play example.

Thanks.

Adding Mew-EX's speeds up the deck so you don't have to repeatingly attempt to put a stage 1 onto your bench to attack. Then from there, the first couple of turns is searching out pokemon and thinning your deck down with receivers, junipers, and Bianca's. Keeping you DCE's from the discard pile, but not being afraid to discard some crucial cards when you still need to set up your bench.

So the first turns are playing a lot of trainer cards lol

You need a 3-3 Accelgor as long as Darkrai is prevalent as Mew presents you with an auto loss. Reliably setting up multiple Accelgors has never presented a problem. I'll give a run-down of the first few turns later. Big Brother/True Blood time right now!

As posted, the deck has worked pretty much like this:

T1
 • Start Shelmet, use search to get Darkrai and Gothita
 • If you just have just dark energy, attach to Gothita.
 • If you have DCE and Dark, attach DCE to Shelmet (it'll usually survive one turn).
 • Get Dark Energy in discard with either Ultra Ball or Juniper.
 • If you have Juniper, Bianca, a Gothitelle, an Accelgor, and/or a Random Receiver in your hand, Juniper is your best play. You can comfortably lose one of each of those, and together they clog your hand. Make sure you take note of your Goth line count in your deck when you search, don't lose Gothitelle early if the other is prized.
 • Try to get a second Gothita benched.
 • Ultimate setup- (A) Shelmet DCE (B) Darkrai Dark Energy, Gothita, Gothita, Shelmet if possible

T2
 • Use any search or Trainers you have and thoroughly thin your hand. Usually through this you get to search, evolve, etc. If you can Rare Candy, great!
 • Play your Supporter
 • Make all other plays you can.
 • Attack and promote Gothitelle (if able to Candy) or Darkrai.
 • Field- (A) Gothitelle Dark Energy/Darkrai 2Dark Energy (B) Darkrai Dark Energy/Gothorita, Accelgor, Shelmet, Darkrai

T3
Really depends on what you have in your hand and what all you draw through your turn. You may be attacking Darkrai and you may be attacking Accelgor. For here I'll assume Accelgor.
 • Use any Trainers you have and thoroughly thin your hand. Usually through this you get to search, evolve, etc.
 • Play your Supporter
 • Make all other plays you can (hold catcher for T4).
 • Attack and promote Gothitelle (if able to Candy) or Darkrai.
 • Field- (A) Gothitelle Dark Energy(B) Darkrai 3 Dark Energy, Accelgor, Shelmet, Darkrai

T4
Your deck should be thin enough here that your draw gives you DCE if you don't already have it in your hand and your Accelgors should be recycling. From here the play can go in many tangents. You can setup double EX kills with Darkrai, you can keep chugging along with Accelgors (and Mews with a Mew build), or you can switch to letting Darkrai take charge of mid-game and finishing again with Accelgors (you have to take this tangent if your Goth is taken out). With Mew builds there are many more possibilities.

Thank you for that Waynegg.

So far my main problem was been here at step one.

Start Shelmet, use search to get Darkrai and Gothita

I never seem to have enough search to make that happen nor thick enough lines of anything but Shelmet Accelgor to have cards reliably in hand.

If you have Juniper, Bianca, a Gothitelle, an Accelgor, and/or a Random Receiver in your hand, Juniper is your best play. You can comfortably lose one of each of those, and together they clog your hand. Make sure you take note of your Goth line count in your deck when you search, don't lose Gothitelle early if the other is prized.

However, this part explains some of that. I suspected I was being too timid in Junipering cards away in the early turns and I was right. I'll give it another try at league and see what happens. Thanks again.

This deck would be better with plus power and N.

N is not good for Accelgor because it puts cards back in your deck. You want to thin your deck out as much as possible to increase your chances of grabbing Double Colorless Energy or the pokemon you need. Plus Power is occasionally useful for grabbing a poison KO coming into your turn, but I found that happens to rarely to bother with.

I tried N early on because I thought the same thing, and it just went against the flow. I respect your play, but you really don't want to put cards back into this deck. Mew does add a lot to it. There are several one Energy and DCE techs you can run in here to help you along the way.

So this is what I've settled on for now:

4 Mew
2-2 Accelgor
2-0-2 Gothitelle
2 Darkrai EX
1 Sableye

4 Bianca
4 Professor Juniper
4 Random Receiver
4 Rare Candy
3 Dark Patch
3 Level Ball
3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Ultra Ball
2 Pokemon Communication
2 Tool Scrapper
1 Cheren

8 Dark Energy
4 Double Colorless Energy

It has good early, above average mid, and stellar late game. Starting Goth and having all your supporters and Random Receivers buried deep is really bad; luckily that rarely happens. Note- If you plan on playing this, play as aggressively as possible. To the point of being wasteful. Aside from discarding the last (only if one is prized) Gothitelle or Accelgor, dump it and get more. The quicker you thin the deck, the better your results will be. You want to be at 15 cards or less in your deck with your 2-3 DCEs, 2-3 Mews, 1-2 Accelgors, 1-2 Supporters, and a Catcher or two left in the deck. Oh, and you don't have to have Gothitelle until mid game so don't stress about getting it out in the first two turns.

If anyone has any suggestions on improvements, I'm always willing to try something new. Thanks for the help thus far!
