Hahahahaha, so we aren't the only ones in line when the vendor hall opens at 10AM on Thursday? We actually pick up our badges on Wednesday so we can just wait for those magical doors to open. There's a vendors' hall map on the Origins site in case you want to plan your attack path. 
The spending money all depends on how many gaming things you enjoy. Last year there were some Pokemon items and tcg items but there is sooooo much more. In addition to the items already mentioned there will be games, plushies, t-shirts, books... If you do plan on shopping, I suggest bringing an extra shopping bag or backpack.
