I remember that last year God of war claimed almost every award! Its a great game but that was garbage.
spike is only good for 1 thing and that thing is called Manswers
one year they gave almost every award to Halo, I think it was the first or 2nd Halo.
Morality affecting how you do is the reason I play Black and White. If it was Halo 1 it deserved every award, if it was Halo 2 it deserved none. On topic...
I just started playing Bioshock last night and my first impression was that it's not GOTY material. I don't know, I think my expectations have been too high for it since I heard about it. The atmosphere of the game is amazing, but the level construction seemed really basic and linear. Of course, this is just after playing through the first stage, so I'll probably change my mind after awhile. I do, however, respect the game's intention on making morality a central theme to the storlyine.
Meanwhile, G4, which has an entire two or three hour block (can't remember which) devoted to video games (not to mention the MLG) knows how to make absolutely sure that it will cater to it's audience. So why does Spike delve into a VGA that few people want to watch when they don't even focus on video games at all.Pfft. The people have already spoken, all you have to do is look at the sales data! After all, whatever sells the most is best, right? RIGHT?
Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good. Almost all video game publications give out awards at the end of the year, and none of them poll their audience for their opinions. There's no reason to. They simply put their heads together and find something to agree upon.
The problem with Spike is that they really don't know jack about video games. After all, its not their buisiness. They just pick what they think people want to hear. After all, their target audience isn't exactly the target audience for Mario Galaxy, hence why it was never in the running.
Wrong. There are a lot more things that make a great game then sales it took in. Look at actual story plots, graphics, controls, replay value, game length, multiplayer value, and other such things when gauging a game's value.Pfft. The people have already spoken, all you have to do is look at the sales data! After all, whatever sells the most is best, right? RIGHT?
Dude, he was being sarcastic. I know it's hard to tell in text format, but the context should have made it obvious. Read the other part of his post, then figure it out. It's not that hard.Wrong. There are a lot more things that make a great game then sales it took in. Look at actual story plots, graphics, controls, replay value, game length, multiplayer value, and other such things when gauging a game's value.
Sales mean next to nothing! Maybe I should go out and buy some cigarettes and alcohol since that seems to be so popular?
