TCG rules change with release of X/Y...?

Powerful bench sitters will be a problem for sure. They need to change the catcher rule for a XY on format and balance all the cards. Doing it now would make the format worse.

Catcher in the current format is definitely broken, but it was ridiculous with junk arm when there was access to a catcher on virtually any turn needed. So why so long to fix things? I like where it is now, and you a see a lot of decks dropping to 3 because there are so many other good trainers that must be run. It's going to feel like a great loss for sure, but hopefully the game will benefit.

Catcher should be an ace spec in the current structure if we were all being honest, and I wish they would print it as such.

There do need to be enough options for bench attack and bench manipulation though.

I like the no attack first turn. T1 flip is just busted right now. I have played way too many games where the outcome is clear after just 2 turns.

Why can't we just get a stinking PONT or similar general use supporter that is always good no matter the hand or the stage of the game?

Typical. People up and arms before we know anything. All we know for sure is that we will most likely see these changes when we get XY.

What if we get a reprint of Goop Gas Attack? What if we get some more power balancing PLAYABLE Pokemon? Just enjoy what we have now and worry about all that when its time.

We aren't trying to predict the game two formats from now. We are taking information gathered over the last (not quite) 15 years, coupled with the current cards we have. It isn't guaranteed, but neither is it unfounded.

Most of us aren't enjoying what we have now, or at least as much as we "should" be. We don't want to "leave" because we are fond of the brand and desire a product we enjoy; it is just the producers of said product have this tendency to try and fix what isn't broken while ignoring what is. There are things that were wrong from the get go that have never been addressed. I give them credit for innovating solutions I would never have thought of, such as the Supporter mechanic, but that also means calling them on problems where I can think of solutions they have never properly implemented.

You are right; these decisions could be perfect... but that is why companies must keep the consumers informed. That is the information age; surprises can be fun and nice but they are also dangerous. If X&Y will "make it all better", that's great! However not making it clear means when some information gets passed on to us, its like throwing a surprise party for your friend. In her car. While she is doing the speed limit on a crowded interstate.

With the Official announcement being made, and a discussion now on the FP, this topic is sorta pointless...
