Switch is good. That way, you can switch between two Poliwraths to deal 120 dmg each turn. But that's a pretty full bench, heh. Poliwag, Poliwhirl, 2 Poliwrath, a Politoed, and probably a Claydol (you'll need it).

that's 5 poli's out at once. >_>

Yeah, MadHatter said the same thing a few posts ago. I guess the deck runs into that problem. For Politoed's effect to activate, every Poliwag has to be in use. That means you can't really build multiple attackers on the bench. It's the same problem with Gardy/Gallade, only you don't need more than 1 of either on the field to do major dmg (Gardy lv.X or Gallade).

You guys are giving this deck the Beedrill complex yet again! You don't really need to set up Politoed until late game...it's near impossible to do that in the first place. Just look at Poliwrath. You can do a surprise Focus Punch on turn 1 going second, which KOs most basics in the game. After that, if they hit you for 10 next turn, you attach and do 10, then BOOM 90 from there on out.

Early game Focus Punch is why this deck is good. Late game Focus Punch for 120 is what makes it better.

 Garchomp, Prime.

Done any testing yet?

LOL, so you are going to setup a stage 2 Lv.X just so you can put down stage 1's and stage 2's and activate Politoed's ability? So you have to discard all the cards first, then waste turns using Restore and bringing back cards like Poliwhirl. LOL, such a waste of Garchomp Lv.X (imho). Why not bring back Gallade with 3 energy on it? Why not bring back Empoleon with 3 energy on it? No...I am bringing back Poliwhirl...XD

I expect to see quicker decks next format. How the heck are you going to pull this off before turn 20?

Magic and pixie dust my good friend. Anyway, Garchomp is a great attacker in of himself, and Recover is just so that I could have two Poliwraths attacking :d I haven't tested it, and I'm not saying it WILL work, but I AM saying it CAN work.

Wait...you ask me if I have done any testing yet, and you haven't done any testing yet?

This is my suggestion to you and everyone else on this forum, test first, then post. It makes no sense to post ideas and act like they are decent only to find out they don't work at all when you actually test them.

Theories, my friend. I was asking the TC, actually, if he had done testing. Not you. :d

Also, not everyone has access to 3 or 4 people who are up for a game anytime. I don't, most of the time, have anyone to test with. Before Nationals, I had not even gotten to play since March.

I understand how you feel The Supes. I don't have people to playtest with either during the week. I rely on the time I spend at league and the time playtesting at home by myself to try out ideas. I wasn't meaning to come down on your personally, but I do think it is wise to at least play a few games with the idea before forming an opinion on it. And I don't even have any of the new LA cards (in JPN version), and that is the main reason I haven't really posted any new ideas for the cards.

There aren't as many obvious combos in the new cards like GG or Magmortar. I think that is one reason why people are posting so many interesting combos. I have no problem with that, and I prefer people to post ideas, but I wish they would make it known that it is an idea that hasn't been tested.

Sorry to disturb this thread with this conversation.

I think Poliwrath's 60 for 1 is really nice. With Warp Points and Switches, doing 60s for one energy could be kind of effective. Maybe a combo with Gardy Lv.X and Moonlight Stadium could be made where you use Gardy Lv.X's Poke-Power to switch Poliwrath out of the active spot, then free retreat for the same Poliwrath and hit again for 60.

Conversation is good : )

Anyway:
im 2-1...
The deck sets up just fine, and even if you dont get out ur combo by T3, you still get it out by T5 and it works just fine from there. Ill post more in depth results when i get home(I wrote em down lol)

I dont know why many people keep thinking T2 KO..... You will not alway get Wag , candy , wrath , and a water on first turn.
This is the same with kingdra , people are alway thinking of easy win. You should try for consistancy rather than that lucky first turn.

The possibility that you'll get turn 1 donk is there, which another certain tier 1 water deck has. You also don't have to discard to do 60, and the drawback of Focus Punch actually turns into an advantage. If they can't hit your Wrath for 10 or 20, that basic is getting KO'd next turn. If they do hit it for 10 or 20, big deal. Attach and wait until you can do 90 for 3, or attach Call and get more Wags, or attach TM-TS1 (which should be in the deck over Phione IMO) to get more Whirls, Politoed or Claydol.

hmm.. heres the thing with Japan.. they can still set up without having to use claydol in their deck.. ive translated about 5 decks in the past 3 days... this is only one to use Claydol...

Poli looks like another solid deck. Although that thing you mentioned about claydol-less decks... I'm more interested in seeing what these decks are and how those work out. (Yes, I'm just that bored not having played since may. :frown: )

I agree with Elm and Prime.

Its a nice deck on paper, but is it going to be consistent enough for it to work? How does it do in Japan?

If you do use this deck i would suggest adding in Warp Point as well as Switch and i dont think that Potion can be underestimated here with Submission?

Potion? Poliwrath's attack simply states if it was 'damaged' at all last turn. Whether or not you remove the damage doesn't do anything. I've been using proxies and the deck's been doing good so far. 5-1.
