Team Magma Hideout
Whenever any player plays a Basic Pokemon that doesn't have Team Magma in its name from his orher hand, that player puts 1 damage counter on that Pokemon.
Suppose I have an Elekid from Sandstorm in play, and my opponent has a Team Magma Hideout in play. I would like to evolve Elekid using its Baby Evolution power to an Electabuzz from Sandstorm in my hand.
Two questions:
1. Does playing Electabuzz to evolve Elekid trigger Teeam Magma Hideout's effect?
2. If the previous answer is yes, how would that effect be resolved?
I believe the answer to the last question would be that the acting players effect goes before the opponent's effect (like the Pokemon Park rulings), but I wanted to be sure.
