Schedule of Events:
NOW – pre-registration at Pre-Reg for TCG main event, VG Midseason Showdown, Premier Challenge, League Challenge, Fun Formats, Draft Tournament and VIP Package. 5 raffle tickets plus extra goodies for pre-registered players. 1 raffle ticket if you register the day of the event.

18 March 2016 – a special Texas Pokémon promo item not available any other day will be given to all players who participate in one of the Friday night events. You can preregister for each of these events at Pre-Reg and receive extra event raffle tickets. NOTE: while the pre-reg form is attached to the texaspokemon Facebook page, it is a secure form through a 3rd party. (jotform) Also note, it may not work on a mobile device.
• 4:30-5:00 pm – Registration for TCG Red & VG Singles tournaments; Registration for Pokken Tourney 1 (Swiss + Top 8)
• 6:30-7:00 pm – Registration for TCG Blue & VG Team tournaments; Registration for Pokken Tourney 2 (Best 2 of 3 single elim)
• 7:30 – 8:00 pm – Registration for Draft Tournament
• 5:30 – 9:30 pm – Player check in and registration for Texas TCG State Championships (19 March) and VG Midseason Showdown (19 March). If you register Friday night for one of these events you will receive 3 raffle tickets and the special Texas Pokémon promo item.

Friday night formats & Prizes:
TCG Red: 40 card deck; XY on; no more than 2 of any card except basic energy; all Pokémon and all energy must be red (this means ALL Pokemon and Energy must be Fire type); no special energy; 15 min rounds; no top cut. Prizes will come from the Mega Blaziken Box Set – Masters Mega Blaziken playmat, Seniors Mega Blaziken Promo cards, Juniors Giant Mega Blaziken Promo card; plus more booster packs and other prizes to top players.
TCG Blue: 40 card deck; XY on; no more than 2 of any card except basic energy; all Pokémon and all energy must be blue (this means ALL Pokemon and Energy must be Water type); no special energy; 15 min rounds; no top cut. Prizes will come from the Mega Swampert Box Set – Masters Mega Swampert playmat, Seniors Mega Swampert Promo cards, Juniors Giant Mega Swampert Promo card; plus more booster packs and other prizes to top players.
TCG Draft - Each player receives 5 booster packs of XY:BREAKpoint and will draft those packs. Prizes – yes!! Some fun merchandise and/or packs.
VG Singles – each player brings his/her Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire game cartridge. More info on format soon – some Pokémon will be restricted. Prizes for top players.
VG Team Battle – players team up against another team with their Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire game cartridge. Each player is allowed to say one, and only one, word during his/her turn. Prizes for top players.
Pokken – tourney 1; 5 Swiss rounds (single game) + Top 8 (best 2 of 3) – tourney 2; all rounds best 2 of 3, single elim. Prizes – entry prize to all players + 1st Pokken game + controller; 2nd Pokken game; 3rd controller. (winners may choose store credit to Cerulean City Collectibles for equal value)

19 March 2016 – a special Texas Pokémon promo item will be given to all players who Pre-Reg for the TCG State Championship
• 7:30 – 8:00 am – registration for TCG State Championship (pre-registered players need to be there at 8:10 am to check the roster) Each player must bring his/her own 60 card deck in the STANDARD format, deck list, randomizer, damage counters and status condition markers. You must be in line by 7:50 am in order to avoid a round 1 loss.
• 8:30 am – Rosters posted and players seated for player meeting; Players need to be in their seats in roster order with their deck lists.
• 9:00 am – round 1 TCG begins
• 8:30 - 9:00 am – registration for VG Mid Season Showdown
• 10:30 am – players seated for round 1. Short player meeting then round 1 VG begins
• 4:00 pm – TCG side events begin Events will include “Win-a-Box” 8 player pods, “Win-a-Mat” 8 player pods, “Get-a-Mat” 8 player pods, “Win-a-Pack” 8 player pods, 8 player Draft pods, 32 player Pokken tournament. Win-a-Mat & Win-a-Box will have 2nd chance drawings. # of drawings will depend on the number of pods.

20 March 2016

• 8:00 am – Top 8 Rounds begin for TCG Juniors & Seniors; VG Masters, Juniors & Seniors

Tournament Structure: players are divided into divisions based on age. Juniors are all players born in 2005 or later; seniors are all players born in 2001-2004; masters are all players born in 2000 or earlier.

Trading Card Game – Standard format – decks of 60 cards. Players may use cards from XY, XY-Kalos Starter Set, XY-Trainer Kit, Flashfire, Furious Fists, Phantom Forces, Primal Clash, Roaring Skies, Ancient Origins, BREAKthrough, BREAKpoint, Double Crisis, Generations, McDonald’s Collection 2014 and Black Star Promo Cards XY01 and higher.

Video Game Players – Standard format – double battles. Players must have Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Each Pokémon may have one item and items may not be repeated. All items will be allowed except Soul Dew. All Pokémon must have a blue pentagon. All discovered Pokémon are allowed EXCEPT the following Mythical Pokémon: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, , Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie and Hoopa. Teams may have no more the TWO of the following Pokémon: Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde,

Video & Trading Card Game
• Players play Swiss rounds – meaning all players play all rounds regardless of win/loss record. Note: all games will be best 2 of 3. TCG – 50-minute time limit; VG – 20-minute time limit for each individual game. (number of rounds will be determined based on the number of players in each age division)
• Once all Swiss rounds have been played, standings will be posted. Top players will have a hack check performed (video game) or a deck check (trading card game) then Top Cuts will begin.
• Top Cuts are played as best 2 of 3; single elimination
• League Challenge will have no top cut
• Premier Challenge will have a top cut; maximum of 8 players/division
• Fun Format tournaments will have no top cut
• Draft tournaments & 8 player pods are 3 rounds only

Prizes: Organizer reserves the right to increase prizing

Pokémon Texas State Trading Game Championship – each player will receive 3 Play! Points and a Pokémon State Championship promo card and one raffle ticket; while supplies last. Pre-Reg players receive extra goodies including raffle tickets and dice.

Fun Formats, Side Events & League Challenge
Prizes will vary by game and number of players in each division. Prizes will include packs, gift cards, playmats, deck boxes, sleeves, plushies, Japanese merchandise and more!! 1st-4th League Challenge winners will also receive a special stamped promo card.

Raffles: Most raffles will be Mega Raffles; meaning that there will be one really cool prize or a lot of little prizes that together make one large prize. You will choose which item’s bucket you put your raffle ticket into. You will receive one raffle ticket for each Friday night event, one raffle ticket for each Saturday event and one raffle ticket for each Sunday event. Additional raffle tickets for pre-registered players.
Pre-Reg
• All players Pre-Reg by Thursday, 17 March will receive 5 raffle tickets and Texas States event dice.
• All players who pre-register onsite Friday night, 18 March will receive 3 raffle tickets and Texas States event dice; while supplies last.
• All players who register onsite on Saturday, 21 March for TCG on will receive 1 raffle ticket.
Tournaments
• For each tournament you play in, you will receive one raffle ticket
Parent’s Raffle – I know many parents drive/fly great distances to bring their children to/from Pokémon events. Most of these parents then spend an entire day or weekend sitting in a venue waiting for their children. Y’all make sure your children are fed, hydrated, hugged and high-fived. If you are one of these parents you will be eligible for the following raffles: (sorry, if you’re a parent who plays you are not eligible for this raffle; however you are eligible for all the other raffles)
• Saturday raffle: hotel night
• Sunday raffle: $50 to Buca di Beppo


Volunteers: depending on the size of the tournaments each day, volunteers will be needed to ensure the tournament runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. If you are interested in volunteering, you may contact Professor Christine or talk to someone at the info desk once you arrive at the tournament.

Vendors: There will be vendors selling merchandise (cards, sleeves, binders, deck boxes, Japanese items, plushies) and also buying bulk/singles/boxes. The following vendors are confirmed for Texas State Championships/Midseason Showdown 2016:

Community Service 7th Annual Food Drive to benefit the MA Food Pantry of McKinney. The pantry works with individuals and family in all of North Texas giving immediate assistance to those in need.
• Players are asked to bring dried beans
• For each pound of beans you bring, you will be given one raffle ticket
• Raffle tickets will also be given for other food items brought in
• Raffles will be awarded throughout the weekend
Raffle items include restaurants, Pokémon items, hotel nights, tickets, much more!!

Kids Korner
Coloring Pages, crafts and a place for players and kids to hang out; come visit the Kid’s Korner for some extra fun!
