Schedule of Events:
NOW – pre-registration is available for both the Video Game Challenge and the Trading Card Game Tournaments. Go to Pre-Reg for both pre-registration forms. Extra raffle tickets for pre-registered players.

14 March 2014 – a special Texas Pokémon promo item will be given to all players who participate in one of the Friday night events
• 4:00 – 4:30 pm – registration for VG Challenge. (pre-registered players need to be there at 4:45 pm to check the roster) Each player must bring his/her own Pokémon X or Pokémon Y DS game, charged gaming system, charging cable and team sheet. Each player must have a team of 4-6 Pokémon in the Battle Box in the current legal format.
• 5:00 – 5:30 pm – registration for League Challenge - Each player must bring his/her own 60 card modified constructed deck and deck list.
• 7:00 – 7:30 pm – Registration for Draft Tournament - Each player receives 6 booster packs of XY and will draft those packs.

15 March 2014 – a special Texas Pokémon promo item will be given to all players who participate in the TCG State Championship
• 8:00 – 8:30 am – registration for TCG State Championship (pre-registered players need to be there at 8:45 am to check the roster) Each player must bring his/her own 60 card modified constructed deck, deck list, randomizer, damage counters and status condition markers.
• 9:00 am – player meeting; Players need to be in their seats in roster order with their deck lists.
• 9:30 am – round 1 begins
• 10:30 am – VG side events begin Events will include Little Cup, Tag Team (multi-battles), Pokémon Roulette, Mono Color & Wacky Rules. 8 & 16 player pods will compete for such prizes as iPod’s and other electronics including two 23” flat screen TV’s.
• 5:00 pm – TCG side events begin Events will include “Win-a-Box” 8 player pods, “Win-a-Mat” 8 player pods, “Win-a-Pack” 8 player pods, 8 & 16 player pods for iPod’s and other electronics including two 23” flat screen TV’s.

• 8:00 am – TCG Master top 32 continue Swiss Rounds (if players exceed 227)

Tournament Structure: players are divided into divisions based on age. Juniors are all players born in 2003 or later; seniors are all players born in 1999-2002; masters are all players born in 1998 or earlier.

Video Game Players – Standard format – double battles. Players must build their teams from Pokémon found in the Central Kalos Pokédex 001-150, Coastal Kalos Pokédex 001-153 or Mountain Kalos Pokédex 001-147. Each Pokémon may have one item and items may not be repeated.

Trading Card Game – Modified-Constructed format – decks of 60 cards. Players may use cards from Next Destinies, Dark Explores, Dragons Exalted, Boundaries Crossed, Plasma Storm, Plasma Freeze, Plasma Blast, XY, Black & White Trainer Kit, McDonald’s Collection and Black Star Promo cards BW33 and higher.

Video & Trading Card Game
• Players play Swiss rounds – meaning all players play all rounds (number of rounds will be determined based on the number of players in each age division)
• Once all Swiss rounds have been played, standings will be posted. Top players will have a hack check performed (video game) or a deck check (trading card game) then Top Cuts will begin.
• Top Cuts are played as best 2 of 3; single elimination

Texas State Dice prizing – Championship dice will be given to the following: Top 32 (Masters only), Top 8, Semi Finalist, Finalist, Champion. You will receive 2 dice of each and for each level you advance, you will receive more dice.

Raffles: Most raffles will be Mega Raffles; meaning that there will be one really cool prize or a lot of little prizes that together make one large prize. You will choose which item’s bucket you put your raffle ticket into. You will receive one raffle ticket for each Friday night event, one raffle ticket for TCG main event on Saturday and one raffle ticket for each side event on Saturday or Sunday.
Pre-Reg
• All players pre-registered by 28 February will receive 5 additional raffle tickets.
• All players who pre-register between 1 March and 13 March will receive 3 additional raffle tickets.
• All players who pre-register for TCG on 14 March will receive 1 additional raffle ticket.
Hotel Nights – for those staying at the Double Tree
• Everyone staying at the hotel Friday night (14 March) will be in the Friday night raffle. If you book your hotel by the cut-off date (28 Feb 2014), you will receive 3 raffle tickets. If you book your hotel after that date, you will receive 1 raffle ticket.
• Everyone staying at the hotel Saturday night (15 March) will be in the Saturday night raffle. If you book your hotel by the cut-off date (28 Feb 2014), you will receive 3 raffle tickets. If you book your hotel after that date, you will receive 1 raffle ticket.
• If you stay Thursday night (13 March) or Sunday night (16 March) you will receive one raffle ticket for each additional day.
Tournaments
• For each tournament you play in, you will receive one raffle ticket


Volunteers: depending on the size of the tournaments each day, volunteers will be needed to ensure the tournament runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. If you are interested in volunteering, you may contact Professor Christine or talk to someone at the info desk once you arrive at the tournament.

Vendors: There will be vendors selling merchandise (cards, sleeves, binders, deck boxes, Japanese items, plushies) and also buying bulk/singles/boxes. The following will be at the tournament:

Community Service 5th Annual Food Drive to benefit the MA Food Pantry of McKinney. The pantry works with individuals and family in all of North Texas giving immediate assistance to those in need.
• Players are asked to bring dried beans
• For each pound of beans you bring, you will be given one raffle ticket
• Raffle tickets will also be given for other food items brought in
• Raffles will be awarded throughout the weekend

Coloring Pages, crafts and a place for players and kids to hang out; come visit the Kid’s Korner for some extra fun!

NOTE: All side events will be played as Standard Format (VG) and Modified-Constructed Format (TCG) unless otherwise noted.

Pre-Registration – You may pre-register for as many of the tournaments as you would like – and you may also pre-order your VIP package. (Special commemorative Playmat + wristband for TCG; Special commemorative Screen Cloth + commemorative patch for VG) Some of the tournaments have limits and will be first come, first served. 5:00 pm TCG League Challenge $5 Modified constructed. Players will need a deck list. Promo item for entering – prizes for top players.

7:00 pm TCG Draft Tournament $20 Limited constructed. Players draft 6 booster packs of XY then build a 40 card deck including energy. Promo item for entering – players keep cards.

Pre-registration will close at noon (12:00 pm) Thursday, 13 March 2014. All players pre-registered will receive 3 additional raffle tickets. (5 additional if you registered by 1 March 2014) Additionally, promo items are first come, first served. I have a limited number of Pokémon time-line posters for VG players and a limited number of promo cards for TCG players. ALL pre-registered players will get these items – those registering at the door will get them as long as they are available.
