Oh, so those ex's can be OHKO'd, but not 70/80 HP pokes? That makes perfect sense...

I don't know, until I see it in action, I'm thinking it was the surprise element. Consider LBS. If the LBS player doesn't know what the hell they're facing, they'll just make a steelix. Against raichu, that steelix will quickly die to eggs. But if the LBS player knows what's coming, isn't it easy to build up a blastoise and take anything in one hit?

if someone kos your ex = 2 prizes, strategy gets ruined

if someone kos your egg/chu = Bring a new one, scramble or we and your strategy isnt affected at all dude, this deck is good simply because it does not depend on a specific pokemon.

Flariados was never really that big in my eyes. At major tourneys like Gyms in CA and AZ, i never really saw that many of them. Only like 2-3 at max. It was either LBS or SMP, lol. I like Raichu d alot! i suppose i fell for it wheen i heard of its victory, but im being original with the deck, thats why im playing it with ******* **. haha, not only is it a fast deck, but it takes very litle energy to use it. Raichu's Zzzap only takes 1 which is the main attack your using. Marowak takes 2 or more w/e youw ant. And eggy 2-3. When you KO an ex which alot of people play these days, thats 2 prizes. When KO a Raichu, big deal! Bring out another and another and another and another! lol Though Raichu is good, i like Marowak better, better HP and it attacks everyone.

This Raichu d deck popped out of nowhere and won Nationals. Great deckbuilding with metagame kept in mind...and people still think Pokémon is based on more luck than skill? I laugh at you all. ^_^

My opinion.

I agree with the thread creator's opinion that most people just Netdeck, rather than invest time into creating a new deck, in order to gain any chance at winning(heck, that's the Oregon metagame in a nutshell. LOL). However, it's people like that who allow the more skilled players to make estimations as to the current metagame.

While the Reggs deck may be a stroke of pure genius, there's no reason to Netdeck it for the purpose of using it at big tourneys. Honestly. if you have to stoop to deck-stealing in order to feel confident about your chances, there's no way you're skilled enough to win Worlds. If I would be able to attend any more big tournaments this season(I work weekends), I'd build a copy of Reggs, but only for playtesting purposes.

I personally make as many archtypes as I can not because I play them but because I want too see how they work so I can learn too beat them

I think the Raichu/Exeggutor deck is a great inexpensive deck to build and can do fairly well in this format and the next....we all can't afford those lugias and mew exs

Not as inexpensive as the value/cost of Raichu d SKYROCKETS.

Does this include the new National Champion?
After all, it wasn't his deck that he won with.

I don't get it. I was informed of the decks advantage over every deck in the format, and believed it was worth a shot. 5 G's later, I'm National Champion.

I'm not saying you were wrong to use it Martin. I'm just saying that it's hard to call people sheep for using a deck that you, the Nat Champ, didn't create either.

Thats true if for example powdacham won worlds for the next 3-4 months everyone would want too build it. It's the same thing here everyone is excited over the so called best deck in the nation so many people want to try it out and see if they will do as well as martin did with it.

jeremy didn't create queendom
ross didn't create the original bombtar
yamato didn't create magma
stuart/curran didn't make cham
bobby didn't make lbs
martin didn't make reggs

I don't think any champ actually creates their own winning decks.

I honestly think it's sooo difficult to be both a good deck maker AND a good in-game player. The two are so hard to find with each other...
I think looking at the champions over the last few years really gives evidence to this belief. I would love to see someone make their own deck almost entirely by themselves and win with it.

I think the closest we've seen is Seena G... and of course ness, right? Since TMB was literally a tourny where participants had to be skilled in both construction and playing of decks.

I do know what you mean about this, but personnally I like to give every deck who's stratergy I like a try, IMO if stratergy X is the best one, you should play it.

Admittedly I have been buying up Raichu d and Eggs d, but thats only to sell this weekend, the trick is with 'hyped' decks like this is to sell at its height.

Yeah, I don't know how good an investment eggs would be, though. I mean, who doesn't have that uncommon? It was given out at prereleases, for goodness' sake...

That's about how u use and modify by your own the decks. Almost no deck out there is original. It jsut depends on how you rebuild and add cards to a deck made by some1 else. Nothing bad, as...huh...alright, example: U built a whole new deck, ensured that that's the first of its kind ever, and u lose to a random person. But some1 else looks at ur deck and realizes that the strategy's ÜBER great, and it only needs some tweaks. That's how the cookie breaks.

Thanks for all of the responses.

I guess I'm bothered by the "sheepness" because I've always strived to make original decks. While I also play popular decks such as typhlosion/weezing and metanite, I just think it's dumb when as soon as a deck wins a big tournament, everyone NEEDS those cards. I just ask for a little more originality from some of you guys...

JK, as long as there are prizes in this game including money and free trips around the nation, people will do whatever it takes to win, and that usually means playing the best deck. I also hate a game filled with no originality, but every game is like this.
