So far this thread has been a great topic, rich with debate.

This will stay open for now but I must warn you all that this thread is going astray.

Keep it "attack" free. Bring it to PM if you need to discuss issues more in depth with others.

Thanks,
PokeDaddy

I wasnt saying he wasnt good,IM saying the video was very n00bish and him acting n00bish just seem to make the statement accurate.

Oh my bad I was talkin to Carlito cuz he thought I was saying Gino is a bad player which I wasnt saying, but from the statement thats been said numerous times "GG makes n00b look elite" I was saying he was acting n00bish,and he played GG/PLOX,and really good players dont tribute to themselves and etc.

All I was saying.

Seeing that video shames me, and shames everything I believed Pokemon was as a game. There are people that I don't know who play the game. Names that I hear, and things that I hear them say in passing, or on here. I remember being so excited when I started playing in 06-07. I was going to meet some awesome people, and we were all sharing a card game that we enjoyed. The game was fun, and most of the people I met didn't care about winning. And if they did, they certainly didn't let you know about it for the rest of the season. This includes the people that won states, regionals, and nationals last year. Last year's champ, Chris Fulop, is from the same area that I play in, so of course I run into him at tourneys, and I know he's a very good player. But seeing him at a tournament, he certainly doesn't consistently let you know that he was the nats champ. We were proud of him, and we still are, for his modesty, and skill of the game. Overinflated egos just get under my skin.

Acting like luck is never a factor in this game is a joke too. Luck may help you win, but it's not necessarily going to make you the best player in the nation. Bad starts can tear a game apart for you, especially if your opponent can get the setup quickly enough. At regionals, I lost a game due to no basics. t1, I have a torchic, and he has makuhita. I burn him, and he hits me for 10. Next turn, I draw no supporters, and no search. He flips and does 40 to me next turn for game. Just for kicks, I draw my next card. TVR, go figure. So I use it, and sure enough.....blaziken, rare candy, fire energy. That game wasn't based on skill whatsoever. It was strictly luck based. Playing an opponent with a banette deck, and 3 of his 4 shuppets are prized. Games like that are all luck based.

And those bandannas.....oh my gosh. You're kidding right? Trying to act like you're from the hood. *shakes head* I feel your ego has really gone to your head. True champions are able to stay level headed in their time of glory.

For the record the bandanna's were a gimmick to show we were a group and where we mostly originate from. We definitely get fresh tho . We will b fresh in florida. Sry we live in south bronx and harlem. At least we didn't run around wearing someone elses face on our back. I'm sry but thats like so degrading.

You guys talk soo much like you kno everything thats happened to us in our life. Also all the hate on this thread is ridiculous lol. and i bet majority of those hate comments on the vid about beating us up in person were from a couple of you guys here on the forum. I would LOVE to see ya do so. Come see us bronx 176th

btw secretsof2113 ... no one is trying to ... we live there ... come to the block ...

I can't even understand that last post, Gaara. Could you perhaps use proper punctuation and grammar? It helps people to understand your hood stories.

ROAD ISLAN FO SHOOOOO!

G-Plox? More like beG-Plox.

only because u chill with my dude josef =D

u guys on da gym just gotta learn to respect our US nats champ. he won, it was a very fair win, and i cant stand it when you guys just bash him by saying stuff like, "Drew shouldve won", or "Gino doesnt deserve to win", or "that video was pathetic and n00bish". it just pisses me off.

No one says that he doesnt deserve the win.
But with this video he made a clown out of himself, the video IS pathetic and noobish.
And he definitly isn't the greatest player alive, there is no such thing, sure hes US master but there is always a lot of luck involved and I'd expect that a great players knows about this and also admits that he didn't win out of sheer skill (like most ygo players do:lol: ) but also out of luck.
No hate for him winning, but even if you win it doesn't meen youre the best but that your combination of skill and luck was the best. Unless you play chess you can never say who is really the best.

I have to ask was the video met to be serious or was it kind of Joke.

I watched it and I was laughing the whole way through I thought it was great.

it was mostly a joke and most of it was remembering the trip ... which was really fun ... especially to them cuz they went clubbing like 3 nights in a row lolol ...

Yea thats what I thought, I saw it and I was like yea this is something Gino would do. If you guys were just having fun and remember the good times than more power to you, I didn't think it was noobish.

I dont know who is attacking u personally but i=I can understand makin a video of the trip, but people have their opinions of the video, just like you have your opinion of the video. Bandana was cool cuz I wore a white bandana around my head, and people arent saying anything about where your from, but All of it isnt hate, you from the hood right, then you know the difference and just people speaking their mind, not everyone is gonna like u.

I said the video was noobish cuz it was, just make a video of yall talking and chillin and the event about how much fun yall had,not Gino just bragging how hes the greatest to ever play the game which is FAR from the truth, not doubting his skillz, but the video didnt do any justice for him.

Jaeger- Omg thank u! U gotta know the kid to understand the video. ppl sayin its noobish. Like noobish? What is that?

Im bragging about being the best player? No im definetly not doing that. I will say I am the national champion and im a decent player but im not tryin to rub it in anyones faces. Being the national champion you dont understand how much it means to me. I join 4 other national champions. Were literially a handful of champions. 04 champ who I dont know, seena, martin, fulop, myself. To make this win even more special when people would name the best players of this tcg of who they liked I wasnt even on their list. Ive been totally underated since I've played pokemon. Now that I won an event, even the biggest event in history I could be extremely cocky. Im not though. That youtube video you can feel however you want about it. Truth is it was a tribute to my experience but If I was just making a video for myself why would I post it online? Tributing to myself that I am the greatest person to ever play this tcg? Im not that self-centered. Anybodys just as good as anybody. Anybody can beat anyone any given day. In my oppinion out of SOTG my top 2 rules are sportmanship and fun.

The video was more of a reflection of my nationals trip and how awsome it was. It wasnt for the other 16,000 ppl that viewed it. If you were one of my friends you would have understood some of the qoutes I used. Like "he made teams consume their words." If you didnt know lafonte made wristplay shirts tryin to diss me and it backfired. I made them eat their wristplays ftl words. Or "his opponents were in endless frustration." If you look at the picture of my game vs. drew I had a T2 gardy on him and he was heated! The picture made it look like he was soo frustrated. "The crowd watched anxiously." All those ppl ahh well most of them were from New England, New york watching anxiously.

"The whole crowd was stunned."Look at that picture and look at the peoples facial reactions. They look pretty shocked to me. Even my friends were stunned! I've always knew I was a champ but when I actually was the champ I was shocked! Talking about it is one thing but doing it is on a whole another level. "In the end victory was won." During top 64 my friend got cheated and got a prize penalty and completly had the win. I told him and the judges "Im winning tommorow and im doing it for garcia." Thats where "In the end victory was won" came in. In more understandable terms: In the end the victory of becoming United States Champion was done! Do u understand? Victory was won! I dont know how to explain it any more.

Victory: suggests the decisive defeat of an opponent in a contest of any kind.
Won: A victory, especially in a competition.
*Thanks dictionary.com*
Victory was won
Victory as in defeating opponents who I had to beat to become national champion and was won as in achieved the victory. Anyone ever heard the qoute Victory was Lost?

If you know me well enough you would know Im always trying to have a good time. When I say ima be national champ and worlds champ I know that its not easy but I dont want to go into nationals or worlds thinking im not going to win? Who wants to play in a tournament aiming to lose. Losing isnt fun but I know how to lose and have fun. You need confidence and to have a good time to truely enjoy the moments. You could tell me my matchup is a 20-80 matchup and i'd tell you its a 80-20 in my favor. If me saying ima be world champ irritates u then u should consider yourself too uptight. Loosen up a lil bit. Dont take it too personal. Come on now! "American-dream and Italian Stallion." The american dream has nothing to do with pokemon and the italian stallion was qouted from my idol slyvestor stallone! I absoletly love rocky. Why wouldnt I include that in the video to show to my buddies. That video was more of a tribute towards nats 08 and my experience. Take it how you wanna take it but your comments of disses or what ever, is just being ignored.

If u see me bragging over winning pikachu is just me and the fellas havin sum fun. If you really take offense to someone bragging over being the pokemon champ im srry. You wanna hate on my video I got a simple solution "Dont watch it." Not tryin to be mean but thats the only real solution. Those other people who dissed my youtube video are real bad hippocrites. How can you diss somebody on playing pokemon yet the only way for you to find the video is by looking up pokemon videos on youtube. As for where im from or where I live. What difference does that effect me on playin a card game I love to play. You dont see me playing any other tcgs and theres a pretty good reason for that. I do what I like.

I copied martin on wearing a bandana. Blah blah blah. Those bandanas were team undergrounds logo. All other pokemon teams had t-shirts, hats, etc. I thought team underground which me and my buddies just recently made before nationals I could switch up a little bit and do something different which no teams have done. Hence we all rocked bandanas. Normally if you say anything within a hater remark ima probably ignore it but as the national champ and not the arrogant kid everyone thinks I am I have decided to explain my actions to anybody who wants an answer. I appreciate the props on the thread and everything and I hope to see everybody at worlds and have a good time.
