Theres A Lochness Monster In My Mini Wheats! (deck article and masters states report)

um...you 'must' 8 pile shuffle? what's up with that?

'mom =/

This deck runs a high energy count, so you're often left with 14-16 energy by the end of the game in one pile. Even if you shuffle with 6 piles, it's still giving 6 piles of 2-3 energy in one clump. Although all decks should technically be completely randomised (which an 8 pile shuffle can give), most people don't bother, because it's not noticeable with other decks.

Good job, sounds like you had a lot of fun!

What was up with the box you were wearing on your head?

It was a Saturday man.

I had actually never went that deep into the math. I just always have a collector in my hand weather its from previous games or someone shuffled before I 8 pile shuffled it. It's like, magic.

'mom got trolled hard.

EDIT sorry, she simply doesn't understand the 8pile shuffle since she's just a simple human without connections to the kraken

8 pile shuffle ftw!

oh, REALLY? 'legitimate cheating'? please elaborate...

'mom

I always ask my opponent to pile shuffle. It's worse in Seniors and Juniors as they can't shuffle as well, and I've played people who just cut the deck a few times then say 'cut'? In fact, I play at least two of these people in every tournament I enter. You get clumps all the time, some decks are worse than others. By not shuffling well you could get - Shuppet, Psychic, Pluspower, Pluspower, Pluspower, Expert Belt and a Collector or something. Or it could be terrible and you have all the key parts prized instead.

You can't randomise without doing the pile shuffle, it's common sense. Might as well be cheating. I always power shuffle twice, once when the round hasn't started so it doesn't like like I'm stalling.

I seven pile shuffle instead, but whatever.

How would you rate your matchups against T-tar or jumpluff? Tyranitar could spread(thus only needing one energy) the whole game and knock out everything by turn 7-9. Even if you KO a jumpluff every turn, another jumpluff would take it's place. So, have you tested against either of those?

8 pile shuffle ftw!

It takes a truly special person to understand its ways without questioning. I suggest that she do some type of testing with this to see for herself but I highly doubt she ever post after the previous shinanigans.

If this deck is so "amazing" then why did you lose so much? =\

I hope you're not suggesting that this deck is not as amazing as it really is. That would just be ignorance. If you read my report it was truly just the mirror match up that defeated me. On top of a turn 1 donk because I top decked collector and went first in round 3. I had no control because the machamp in round 3 truly had a God hand and had to play 0 trainers for it.

I must say this post is beautiful. Infact, I suggest doing this with the kraken. Because I myself do this but lack the words to put it so elegantly.

I believe your seven pile shuffle might mess this deck over, but I have yet to do extreme testing on it. Let me know how it works?

I would rate my matchup vs t-tar 80-20 in favor of Magnezone Regirock. I'm one hitting your T-tar so as soon as you make him active I'll be sure to KO him. You can only run 4 rescue energy max and I can even run regirocks attack with an expert belt to onehitknockout.

As for jumpluff, thats intense, but I would still say 70-30 in favor of Magnezone Regirock. Jumpluff can't one hit knock out, while Magnezone Regirock can just use a rescue energy and bts. At the beginning of the match Magnezone Regirock also stalls with spiritomb.

edit: if you would like to help me test the matchups further with the decks you built, pm me and we can play on skype or the tinychat league.

Have you actually play tested against the decks to find out percentages? Or have you just put 100-0 or 90-10 because you think the deck is so "amazing"?

Hey man. So im the guy who let you have my Warp Energy..:thumb:

We didnt get to play...But you did play one of my good friends in round 3. I made that deck to help me against the SP matchs and Magnezone matchs lol.

All i know is that Magnezone is a very good deck and very stong. It just sucks that you had bad sets ups. Good luck at your up coming tournaments.

Your match ups are way off, it is not favourable agaisnt every competitive deck in the format. It hasnt even won a states yet. I beat this deck playing straight machamp sf 3 times in a row.

You mean a non top tier donk deck that hits him for weakness?

I know this is an amazing deck, and you probably understand the awesomeness of the 8 pile with your kyogre groundon legend. But I was really trying to hold myself from putting 90-10 on all the matchups even though thats pretty much the truth.
Not being a hater here but 90-10 for all matchups?? Is that why you went 1-5??

3 of those match ups were mirrors (so a Magnezone/Regirock did win all of those), and one was a donk (and we all know donks don't morally count as wins - you're only fooling yourself if you reckon they do), so the true result was 5-1, or 80-20, which is close enough to 90-10 if you think about it.

You mean a non top tier donk deck that hits him for weakness?

No, I mean a deck that is designed to take out basics and has no reliable attacks. None of the wins were donks because my opponent played spiritomb. So before you go making smart comments, know your facts.

This is by far the best use of Theorymon math I have ever witnessed. Absolutely amazing!:thumb:

If you're implying that my numbers are wrong I already said I would like to play-test vs your deck. And no, not the deck that you run a 2-2 donphan and 4 rainbow energy in jumpluff with. Skype me. mistersadbuffalo

Haha thanks again for the warp energy man. My friend actually was looking for one as well (he took mine because he wasn't using clear sleeves) and I was like whoa cause I had like 5minutes to find one :p
I wish I could of seen more of the machamp deck though :(

Lol, i am playing the mirror

I see what you did there.

Probably because you're not playing my decklist and 8 pile shuffling. My match ups I would say are pretty darn close.

You mean a non top tier donk deck that hits him for weakness?

Yes I think thats what Mike is implying through his logic.

Thank you for explaining to these people.

I fail to understand what you just said. Skype match? :D mistersadbuffalo .

baby mario does infact know his stuff.

8 piling and then not shuffling at all is NOT a shuffle. Shuffles are random, what you described is an even distribution of cards throughout your deck. You will always get the same result in each of your piles if your deck is in order.

Nobody in Japan does it, nobody here does it. The idea is to pile shuffle and THEN shuffle your cards. It just gets them initially declumped.

I prefer a 6-pile because if it doesn't come out even, you don't have 60 cards. A good back up, but I don't shuffle in order... I go:

1...5....3
6...2....4

then shuffle individual piles, then shuffle top row together, then shuffle bottom row together.
