    Get it right already. We learned this stuff in the third grade. No wonder our country is the laughing stock of the world, we can't even spell correctly.

    They're = They are
    Their = signifies possession
    There = a place

    Your = second person possessive
    You're = You are

    The people in my country (or at least where I live) abbreviate "is it not?" to "innit".

    The weather is nice isn't it -> Weather nice innit

    Ooh it flames me up :p

    I think you shouldn't be allowed to graduate if you don't know the differences between the words the OP mentioned, as well as the differences between to/too/two and its/it's.

    I don't care what kind of person someone is. I automatically respect them less when I see they can't even communicate properly in their native language.

    Anyway, I don't think he's overreacting. It's pretty ridiculous.

    In those last three words alone are two of the most common misspellings I've encountered on this series of tubes. "It's" without the apostrophe (Or a different word with an apostrophe placed incorrectly) and "Rediculous" =/

    OMG, why am I all of a sudden agreeing with you?:confused:
    This guy is so right IMO, you know what somoene is saying when they say there, they're, etc. If you can't deal with that then just go away. I myself, make many grammatical errors when I feel the need to not impress others on some forum. I will use my "real" English skills on something that actually matters, like my College Algebra class with which I have a 105%. Good english skills are used for "life tasks." I don't think that pokegym or pokemon itself are considered life-tasks.

    I agree, it's funny that many people still get this wrong.

    It's not that we are trying to humiliate/anything else you, its just some basic english. Using bad english ANYWHERE begins bad habits.

    I hate when people mix up i.e. and e.g.

    I remember being a little kid and everytime I had to write a form of there, I had to really think about it. I don't make any mistakes like that any more. It's/It was always a no-brainer for me. Same for You're/Your.

    I at least try to use good grammar on this forum. I probably mess up sometimes though, since I go on PokeGym right after I get up in the morning for several minutes :lol:.

    Vegeta- Why should there be a difference? Why should your ability to spell and punctuate correctly cease when you're not doing something that "matters?"

    That just doesn't make sense to me.

    No, really, I'm not. If anything I'm underreacting. I think it's patently ridiculous that people don't know the basics of their own language.

    You shouldn't even be allowed to pass elementary school if you don't know this stuff, let alone high school.
