As we head into the 5th Generation with the new Black & White Games I wrote this parody/lyric adaptation of a classic song as a brief History of the Pokemon franchise. I hope those of you who read it will enjoy it.
    ~Cyber~

    A long, long time ago…
    I can still remember
When I first obtained a Pokédex
And I knew with those Pokéballs
That I would have to catch ‘em all
And maybe defeating the League Champ would be next

But Blue always made me shiver
Leaving me yelling “Smell ya later”
Type match up in his favor
I wouldn’t dare start to quaver

Once they were sealed in the ball
I’d take them out to begin a brawl
    My Charmander was never thrall
So we left to catch them all

    So bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

Did you keep track of that glitch
Where MissingNo could make you rich
I frankly went for Rare Candies
    Did you capture all 151
Then believed that you were truely done
    Completing Oak’s life long fantasy

But Gamefreak surprised us with second Gen
We had to start all over again
We waited for Silver and Gold
    And journeyed a Region untold

100 Pokémon added to the list
Learning of Johto we all knew the gist
    We bought more empty Pokéballs
and left to catch ‘em all

    I started singing,
    bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

Now for two years I was a happy kid
Until Gamefreak went and flipped their lid
Pokémon went back to what it used to be
The days didn’t matter, the time denied
The Pokémon world took a dive
Hoenn seemed far to alien to me

But the battles became more intense,
Natures and Doubles to add suspense,
    Abilities also debuted
    A Frontier later too
And with the total up to 386
The Pokédex is still in the mix
I knew it was the same old fix
Oh yes, to catch ‘em all

    We were singing,
    bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

Gamefreak began to tease us more
    With Munchlax from Generation four
I knew then it would never end
I followed the famous Serebii Joe
Cuz I knew his website would let me know
What Diamond and Pearl would intend

The announcements were like sweet perfume
The use of day and night cycles would resume
We all left the Gameboy Advance
Oh, and gave the DS a chance
‘cause the 10th anniversary was underway
Then Pokémon Ranger came pave the way
With Manaphy I awaited that day
We’d go to catch ‘em all.

    We were singing,
    bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

Oh, and then came along a whole new place,
A generation of time and space
It was time to start over again
We went on to Twin Leaf, then Sandgem
Where I met another new Professor again
And Dawn was his one and only friend.

Oh, and I learned of the great AR-KEY-us
But I’ll always call it AR-SEE-oos
    Then saw Giratina’s hell
To break Cyrus’s red chain spell
And as the Pokédex got filled
493 caught in my own skill
I sought out to find a new thrill
A place to catch ‘em all

    We were singing,
    bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

I saw the shadow that stirred up news
The biggest thing since Ancient Mew
I knew what would come my way
We all saw on that fan site when
Jun showed us Zoroark of the new Gen
And we lost of words for what to say

And in the forums the fans were psyched
Some loved it and some simply denied
A lot of hype was spoken
Generation 4 was just a token
And the ‘mon I admired most
Couldn’t be in Unova and now they’re toast
Since the Dream World caused such a boast
    It’s time… to catch… ‘em all.

    And they were singing,
    bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

    They were singin’
    Bye-bye, Poké-Professor guy.
    Becoming partners with the monsters
    With their own unique cry
We left Pallet Town all ready and spry
Saying “I’ll battle until the day that I die.
I’ll battle until the day that I die”

Nice! I made a TCG version of this song a year ago, might try to dig it up.

You MAY want to sound out some words as some of it didn't sound right when I sung it with the song. Otherwise, great job
