Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK City Championship Dates 2006/2007 season

Rating based invites to UK nats is going to be interesting this year given that the only tournament that is currently scheduled for rating points is UK nats itself. Given the excuses over why the current CCs aren't rated there is little reason to believe that any of the regionals will be rated either.

Of course given the repetative nature of some of the CC venues everyone from those leagues will have qualified anyway. Which makes a mockery of having Nationals as invite only in the first place. Why can't it be residents only and have free entry to Woburn as the CC/regional prize? There are maybe 300 players in the UK, why are we so afraid of a 300 player tournament? Bring em on I say. (I'll be judging probably *grin*) many wont turn up even to an open event as Woburn isn't the easiest of places to get to without a car.

Okay spoken with John and emailed with Carl, London seems likely to still happen and we have an extra event at the Normandy Village Hall nr Guildford too.

Details to follow..

My last promise from the PUI side of things was that the ratings would be updated before US states. With another deadline passed I e-mailed Dave again and got a slightly more optimistic response.

We spoke with The Place For Games today, and we now have approximately 85% of the events ready for Premier tagging. We hope to have this done this week. Hopefully, we'll get the rest in short order.

Thank you,
Dave

Make of it what you will.

Just Guildford left of the confirmed premier events, once we get the 24 done and dusted I will be collating a list of all qualifying players for TOs to use at the regionals.

Given that there will be another 168 places up for grabs at the regionals can you keep a note of any regional winners and qualifiers too since we will need to update the list again for Nationals :D

Anyhow here it is the last one of the season :D Mr Kempleys? Mr Stones or maybe someone else to win...

If the one at London isn't happening, and D&R arn't playing at home, I will be there, and I will be playing Metanite ;D

John keeps telling everyone that the tournament is happening, but hasn't told us where it is. I hope to get that information on saturday, if possible.

Emphasis on "Official". The officialities in England can be a bit of a mess at times...

It does help though if you inform the OP provider and the players where and when the tournament is!

Just sanctioning an event is not flagging it to the OP Provider. I went through two months of chasing That's Pokemon forGotten before they okayed the CC in Guildford.

I have no doubt that London will go ahead as Carl shows no appetite for applying his own rules.

Personally a fourth tournament in the same venue seems too much and I would much rather we stopped mucking around with CC's and had stopped them in February when we should have done.

We could now be concentrating on the regionals and then Battle Road. As it is now we have nothing from our OP provider about Battle Road and we have chaos over changing dates for Regionals.

What we need is solid dates that don't change advertised well in advance so that players can plan.

As for Official .. well once the Premier Tag is on there the event is most definitely a real CC something some of the completed CC's have yet to see either.. Hessle I coff coff..

It's hard enough with That's Pokemon forGotten running things without TO's making it worse by not advertising events in advance or flagging them to TPfG in the first place....

There is always a risk with London on the 24th That TPfG just ignore John and the event is not a CC, has no prizes and no qualifiers for Nationals..

I can only confirm that Guildford is an Official CC, it will have prizes and it will qualify players for Nationals and it has a Venue .. as for London well that's just conjecture..

Oh man, this makes things so much more inconvenient for me....

I think this is actually just the 3rd tournament at Homerton, but the point still stands.

And anyway, isn't the tournament in Guildford supposed to be 2007?
