Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK - EX Legend Maker Tournaments

Just thought I would Bump everyones tourneys up the lists rather than just my own!!

Here's a hint people - lets keep our premier tourneys where players can see them by posting to the one combined thread.

It seems to work well and keeps us all in a place players can easily find us - otherwise we risk a free for all and tourneys getting lost amongst the chaff, spam and bragging rights.

It certainly pays off when changes happen - especially given how wrong the official site is sometimes and how slow it is to react to our requests for changes.

So keep it here and promote us all :D

I'm posting this in several places to try and get the word out....

I've finally managed to get permission from TPFG to run a second CC tomorrow.

Take part in the pre-release and the CC is free. Note that the prize support will have to follow later on as it is such short notice.

Oh, prerelease results! Me forget. =D

Prerelease one:
15+ winner: Paul C
11-14 winner: Tie between Owen McG and Kyle J (lucky sod, got Arcanine ex and Mew ex in his packets!)
10- winner: Emma C
Highlight for the Guru - I was judging this one, so handing out the prizes to the happy players was my highlight.

Prerelease two:
15+ winner: Poke G
11-14 winner: Think it was Kyle J, not sure
10- winner: Ross A, with tres fast deck.
Highlight for the Guru - In a pre-prerelease game against Kyle J, started moshing to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Wayne's World-style! w00t!

Prereleases tomorrow and Sunday at The Swan Inn! Guru may be playing on Sunday, need to keep his travelling chum, Andrew R, from winning 15+!

Will post results after weekend!

2nd prerelease weekend!

11th: Can't remember much about that prerelease, but winners were:
10-: Ross A (I think)
11-14: Conan J (won overall with best w/l record)
15+: Can't remember, one of our TO's kids.

I end up coming 2nd in 15+. I finally got a Wobbuffet. Word.

12: Remember THIS one! Here's the report.

I meet with my friend, Allan R at Waverly, and we wait for our Port Seton friend, Andrew R. Turns out his mother was rushing down the motorway as she thought the train to Livingston was at 1003hrs. It was actually 15 mins later, and she was not best pleased when she found out. While they were arguing over the course of a couple of minutes, I pledged never to make any immature jokes regarding people's mothers again. It doesn't work when you've met them. =D

We get on the train to Livingston North and me and Andrew tried to have a game, but we were too slow, and neither of us had taken a prize on the half hour journey there. We meet with Chalkey and his son, Conan J, and we drive to the venue at Cumbernauld.

We arrive there 40 minutes too early, and since the pub (our venue) didn't open till 12midday, Chalkey, Conan and Allan go off to McDonalds. Andrew and I stay to hold the fort as we didn't feel hungry. While waiting, we head over to the Costcutter on the other side of the street and admire it's "Pot Stop", i.e. hot water to fill your Pot Noodle, obviously. =/

We get let in at 11.40am, and since Chalkey hadn't come back yet, me and Andrew play again. I end up beating him, so chuffed about that. The tournament starts to fill up around 12.10pm and more and more people arrive. Pretty big tournament considering the venue change a couple of weeks ago and the obscurity of the place. =D

I pay for the entry and socialise with the other 15+ players, including Luke, who used to play back in the WotC days, and was bored today and chose to play with his Pokemon playing brothers.

Boosters are opened, and I get an okay batch. No really good draft cards like Misdreavus or Spinda though. I do get a Muk and some other good cards, plus my 1st React Energy! W00t!

End up playing a Lanturn/Muk/fossil staller deck.

We get told by Chalkey that there will be 3 rounds, plus a top cut for 10- and 15+. 11-14 didn't have the numbers. Ah well.

Round one vs. Luke (15+)
Was able to get started quite easily here. Quick set-up to Muk and he couldn't draw many basics. I ended up winning early on. I then played him with my Cole O'Cargo deck and won too. =D
1-0

Round two vs. Alistair (11-14)
I was confused as well. I didn't think that I'd be forced to play an 11-14er due to the 15+ numbers...ah well. He gets set up quickly and KOs my Muk. Can't recover and lose soon after.
1-1

Round three vs. John (15+)
The match begins with many euthamisms, followed by a relatively good set-up on John's part. I stall with fossils early on, then start Muk beatdown. He kept confusing with Wynaut, and since it appeared that he was just waiting for Wobbuffet to baby evo, I build up a lanturn on my bench. Discarding my final fossil, I go into Lanturn beatdown mode and start beating him 3 prizes taken to 1. Time is called and he can't KO, so I win.
2-1

Top cut is announced. 10- is Ross A and a player from Aberdeen (can't remember his name) and 15+ is Andrew R vs...Me! Bugger...

T2 vs. Andrew R (15+)
Due to time constraints, its gonna be one game. I get the Muk and fossil set up, and KO his Spinda. He sends another and KOs my Muk. He'd already KOed a Tangela, and I needed to keep fighting back. It came to 1-1 on prizes, but his downfall came when he used Whimsy Draw. He drew 14 cards, and from there, we realised it was 5 turns till he decked himself. Somehow, through combination of retreating and sheer dumb luck, I held out those 5 turns and he decked himself. I win 15+! w00t!
3-1

So I win 15+, Alistair F wins 11-14 and the Aberdeen player wins 10- and the overall tournament with an unbeaten record.

I open my prize boosters and get a Gengar. Cool! Andrew opens his prize boosters and gets an Arcanine ex. Not cool. I buy 4 boosters after the prerelease and get a Banette ex. w00t!

So great day. Yep. =D

Congrats to Andrew P who won the Pre today in Slough. Golem/Cradilly/Machoke/Girafarig all the way! 14 players though, bit down but it was raining...

It was raining up here yesterday, and drizzling today...certainly didn't damped our spirits! [/cheesyness]
