Congrats everyone. ^^

Is the travel award in masters passed down since Sami already got one from Worlds 2009?

Juniors 26 (though two dropped before R1)

Seniors 63

Masters 96

I can't upload the event yet as I currently have 78 PlayerID issues to resolve. 12 Juniors, 23 seniors and 43 Masters who have outstanding registration problems from the event.

FWIW, I had pre-configured the tournament software with all the players who had attended last years nationals and this years SPT and CC events. Along with a separate list of the 3900 players who have POPID/playerIDs that I can see on the website. The registration delay is down to me, in particular my failure to anticipate that nearly half the attendees would not be amongst the 385 players I had pre-configured or on the list of 3900 active and inactive players I had assembled

props:
STAFF : Thank you so much. The successes are down to you.
venue and Wicksteed staff (Paul Amy ... )
weather
the players - who made it an enjoyable event and especially those that had correct Player IDs.
Esdevium for providing the free RR boosters
AIM Graphics: for the banner along with service above and beyond.

SLOPS
Thefts: Banners stolen from the gates, posters taken ( I have no spares of either)
Loss (theft?) of a deck that resulted in a player being unable to continue. Whoever has it can send it to me anonymously if they wish and I'll make sure it gets back to its rightful owner.
Other minor thefts. can theft ever truly be minor?
Language and "Attitude" from a small minority of the players
Technology
Registration: which as in previous years remains the biggest issue with UK Nationals operation.

First pass through the slips and the number of errors in the Senior division increases to 30 :( Masters reduces to 34 :) , Juniors stays the same (ish ) at 13.

Fantastic tournament, Ian! Registration delay or not, the whole day ran beautifully.

The slops are appalling tbh. Particularly poor are the banner/poster thefts and the theft of a deck.

But other than the actions of a minority of small-minded plebs, a fantastic day! I enjoyed it thoroughly!

SAMI's UNUSED INVITE PASSES DOWN.

Status update on the tournament file.

Masters: checked and corrected
Juniors: Checked and corrected.
Seniors: 17 players still have errors.

the errors are typically Multiple IDs, IDs that are invisible (to me), date of birth errors, mis-remembered IDs. The enhanced child privacy on the new website has made identification of the errors a very painful process: 30 hours of effort and I'm still not done.

A PLEA: If you are playing in tournaments or League then PLEASE ensure that you have a Trainer Account on the new website. (just ONE though)

Next season this is likely to be very important as I fully expect only those players that have registered on the website will be allocated league material.

Drat senior errors just went up to 23 :(

Hey guys, a few questions:

Any idea if this has been uploaded yet? And any idea where I actually finished? No one told me on the day so I could be anywhere from 5th-8th.

And for someone good at maths/working these things out (Ian perhaps? :p), can anyone estimate what a 1600 ranking may shoot up to after going 7-2 at UK Nats? Obviously not 100% accurately but any indication would help.

Cheers

You finished 6th as you were 4th seed going into the cut and Ryan was 3rd seed.

7-2 at a K=32 event with a 1600 start should be around 1680 once the tournament is uploaded, it wont be more than 1750

I hope to have the last remaining player IDs resolved tonight and on a similar topic you have yet to activate your Trainer Club account on the new website. Email me if you have forgotten the details and I can reset the associated email address and password to something else.

Three Seniors have incorrect dates of birth on the website.

Adam H ( a TOs son)
Thomas C (plays at the North London League?)
George H ( no idea who he is :( )

I can't see any of these three players along with many others who played on the day. All I can tell is that their dates of birth have to be incorrect as they are in the wrong age groups. Which of course means that the UK ratings will be messed up.

UK Nationals

I couldn't believe that I had to enter so many new (and I use that word loosely) POP IDs on the day. One person had two POP IDs already and wanted to start a new one.

This was the reason that we were late in starting and although time was made up during the day, it was still a late night.

I would like to thank Ian for all the hard work he put in and is still doing so.

A tip I give to new players is always count your cards before you start and when you finish each game. My new tip is make sure you know your POP ID. Put in in your deck box if you can't remember it. This also helps if you lose your deckbox and it is handed in.

THANKS AGAIN IAN I had great fun and thats what it is about.

Does anyone know someone who went 5-2 with luxchomp and Entei/Raikou LEGEND in masters and barely missed out on the cut?

yes he did finsh 2nd in the world championships

and he has won the UK nats 2 times in a row

Actually, the family won it 5 years in a row since 2006.

06: Sami
07: Sami
08: Yacine. Sami scooped to his own brother in the finals that year as IIRC, Yacine was underaged.
09: Sami
10: Sami
