It has been a long time since I have written anything, and I think that a simple short story will pass a bit of my creative thinking time. Here it is, Enjoy!

One horrible night I will not forget is the night a storm wrecked havok with in my home in the Forest of Sinnoh. The night sky was filled with thickly rain burdened clouds, preventing the moonlight from beaming down onto the forest floor. This night was a night of nature's wrath, a night of releasing it's built up energy in the wind and clouds.

I remember the moment when the wind began to pick up it's gusting strength, I was heading to my fallen tree log from an Ancient Pine the size of a Sequia that had hollowed out over the years. I picked up my pace as the rain drops began to pelt me with a small stinging feel to the touch, and the wind whipped around me with an eerie howl. As I drew near the entrence of my home, the thunder began it's nasty boom, echoing through the hights above, vibrating the ground as if it was lurking beneath my every step.

The lightning blitzed and crawled among the clouds, forking down and tagging the branches of rain drenched branches. This night I will not forget, for it is a night that changed my life. The storm is begining to reach critical mass, as the fury is unleashed like never before. I make my way inside the safty of my home, in time to escape the hail that has begun to make it's presence.

The other Pokemon too, are making their way into the safety of their homes. The swellow, the bug Pokemon, and the beasts of the night life also take cover. This storm is like no other, as in my lifetime the rain has never been so merciless. I stay tucked inside my home, peering out to watch this night of fright bring the forest to it's knees.

The rainfall is so much, that the water begins to form small quick flowing streams past my home and running towords a small stream the Pokemon use for refreshing drinks. I have never seen so much rain, nor nothing like this on such a large scale. I begin to think about my forest friends, and their safty in this mess. As I watch the rain and wind, my ears are filled with thunder after each spark of crackling lightning.

I try to not watch, but I am struck with awe, amazed at how nature can be so cruel at times. But my fears begin to grow more, as I watch the water all around begin to rise, and become more violent. I think to myself that maybe I will need to find another spot to lay my head and wait out the storm, maybe someplace like a small cave in the hillside not to far away.

I decide I should make the run for higher ground, knowing the water will continue to rise and threaten my home. As I make my way to the entryway of my home, a flash of white light and a ear piercing crack right next to my doorway makes me hesitate for a moment. I am dazed for a moment, waiting for my eyes to reclaim the site, I hear something more horrid then the temper of the thunder and the sizzling of the lightning. A sound I too will never forget. The sound of what a herd of a thousand Tauros running in a crazed stampede.

I look out to inquire as to the source of this unknown sound. But the sound became louder. The ground began to rumble, and my home began to dance. Then, a Father Houndoom came running towords my way, howling as loud as his voice could yelp. Distress and disaster is the meaning of his howl, a warning of something I had never thought I would never need to flee for my life.

A flash flood was headed our way, and I felt my heart skip a beat. Adrenalin filled my vains, my breathing becoming heavy and fast. I leap out into the wrath, and turn to follow the Father Houndoom. I run as fast as I can, jumping over what I can see that blocks my path.

"KEEP UP, TIME IS SHORT AND THE HIGH GROUND IS UP AHEAD!" howled the Father Houndoom.

I manage to keep up with the Father Houndoom, until I could not clear the hiegth of a fallen tree. The ground is too soaked for me to get a good jump, even with a running start. I begin to panic a little, and the sound of the water enclosing in on me is distracting my thoughts. As I take a second to see a way around the tree, I hear a soft whimper. I twist to look about, and I spot a younge poochyena who has been left behind in the confusion, sepporated from it's family. I give up on trying to get over the tree, and make my way over to the helpless pup.

"Don't be afraid or worry, I will do what I can to get you safe" I yelp as load as one can. "The water is coming, I need to get you to higher ground, or you will be washed away in the waters" I tell the pup, who has calmed down and stopped whimpering.

I take the pup with in my mouth, as a parent would when caring for their younge, and begin running along the length of the fallen tree to find a spot I can jump over the thickness of the trunk. As I get to a more narrow section of the tree, I hear a gruop of howls from a pack of Mightyenas, searching for the younge member of their clan.

I manage to climb atop the fallen tree, and I set the pup down.

"Over here, the pup is here!" I scream.

One of the Mightyenas looked and saw that I had the pup, safe atop the tree. As he made his way to retrieve the pup, the ground began to shake. The Mightyena stopped, and looked in the direction of the terrifying sound. The flood was here, upon us in seconds.

I regrabbed the poochyena with in my mouth, and braced myself for the impact. I gave a quick look over to the mightyena, with the notion I would do what I could to keep the youngling safe.

The water hit us both, the pup and I . The Mightyena lept up onto a tree branch that was higher up, and watched as we both were washed away. He howled loud, so loud I can still hear it even to this day. I see his sadness in his eyes, knowing that this may be the last that he sees either one of us. As the pup and I resist the pull of the water, I can see an area of high ground not to far off, close enough to toss the pup onto safely. As we get near, I fling the pup onto the clearing, only to catch my breath before going under.

I surface agian, and see that I am in more truoble then I had ever been in before. I tumble, bump around, twisting and spiraling this way and that. I am completely confused, and tirering out with little hope of making it through this catastrophy. I do not give up hope, but I can not continue this much longer.

I realize I need a miricle, and that is what happens next. A change that made me able to overcome this hardship, the answer of hope that gives meaning to life. I felt a change with in myself, and in that change my world flipped upside down. A new energy has given me the strength I need, the skills to survive. A change that I never would have expected, for it must have been chance that I evolved. I once was an Eevee, for now in my change, I am now a Vaporeon. Somewhere in this flashflood, was a waterstone.

The storm is over now, and the forest is at rest from the wicked blow of natures wrath. The clouds are gone, the moon beams down. The water has calmed, the forest is changed. I know that life is always changing, and nature is not immune to such a change. Order is restored, and the forest accepts the change.

I too have changed, unexpectedly, because in hope there are answers. And with a little sacrifice, a change can happen for even those who strive to keep others safe. Even when times are tuff, like a storm, there is always a way out for the better, as long as you believe in a little luck once in a while.

so- there yall - something to read, and I hope it was worth your time. Thanx!
