In past years some of the players who flew to Indianapolis had used the low-cost "Green Line" bus which ran from the Airport to downtown (with a stop at the Convention Center). It looks like the old federally-funded Green Line ended last September; details are at

As a replacement they suggest using the Route 8 bus, which is cheaper but runs less often and has longer travel time (about 45 minutes).
A quicker alternative (short of taking a taxi) is to use the GO Green Shuttle, which takes about 20 minutes to get to the Convention Center.
